尼泊爾賭場帶來虧損‧威德仍專注博彩業

（吉隆坡25日訊）儘管尼泊爾的博彩業導致公司虧損，威德（WIDETEC,7692,主板消費品組）未來仍專注於博彩業，持續探討在第三世界國家拓展業務。

探討拓第三世界國家業務

威德在上個財政年裡，營業額上升了幾乎9倍，但因尼泊爾的政治不穩定而導致淨虧損611萬令吉。

該公司首席執行員江先盛在股東大會後對《星洲財經》透露，去年因為尼泊爾臨時政府對博彩業的稅率暴增，導致博彩業經營艱難，威德最終決定在去年9月關閉了該公司在尼泊爾的賭場。

他表示：“在結束尼泊爾的賭場時造成了一次性虧損，所以才會導致公司淨虧損。”

儘管尼泊爾賭場令該公司蒙虧，但他認為，博彩業會持續成長，所以會繼續以博彩業作為公司的主軸。

目前，博彩業佔該公司總營業額的70%，其餘來自消費品及製造業。

江先盛表示，在剔除了尼泊爾賭場後，該公司現在在越南及柬埔寨的賭場為公司帶來了不錯的盈利。

該公司截止於2014年6月30日的2015財政年第一季營業額從去年的232萬1千令吉上揚至318萬3千令吉，淨利也轉虧為盈。

他表示，威德一直都有在物色適合的地點拓展博彩業務，而目前，該公司在越南及柬埔寨都有在經營博彩業。

“第三世界國家尤其東南亞會是我們的主要目標，除此之外我們也看中印度的市場。”

他披露：“在寮國有酒店與我們洽談經營賭場的計劃，但那只是最初的階段，還要很久才可以確定這計劃。”

江先盛強調：“吸取了尼泊爾的教訓後，我們會更小心地去選擇投資的地點。”（ 星洲日報／財經）

博彩業料成主要貢獻‧威德擬重返貸款業務

（吉隆坡29日訊）環球經濟走勢雖不明朗，威德（WIDETEC，7692，主板消費品組）預期博彩業將成公司主要貢獻，並有意重回貸款業務。

該公司執行主席林金發在股東大會後向《星洲財經》表示，公司在尼泊爾角子機（Slot Machine）業務持有40%股權，去年貢獻公司8萬令吉左右的盈利，預期今年可提高至10萬令吉左右。
“公司計劃在尼泊爾設立更多的角子機，以提高更多的淨利。”

他表示，公司也有意在柬埔寨擴大當地的博彩業務。

他補充，公司也有打算在第三世界國家，如印度設立博彩業務。

此外，他也表示，基於經濟走勢疲弱，公司打算重返貸款業務，以提振公司的表現。

“有關貸款業務最大的競爭對手來自人民銀行及大馬銀行，因為貸款成本較低之故。”

詢及馬幣走弱事宜，他也表示，所有海外博彩業務皆以美元計價，公司可受惠其中，惟製造業務卻備受影響。

該公司的製造業主要為打火機彈簧及電視遙控器電線製造。

他表示，製造業務部份材料來自海外，但公司主要的營業額則以馬幣計算。
