（吉隆坡29日讯）材料与能源成本上涨，导致南方钢铁（Southern Steel Bhd）截至9月杪首季净利按年大跌96.7%。
现财年首季净利暴跌至179万令吉，上财年同季为5342万令吉。
每股盈利则从2018财年首季的12.42仙，劲挫至现财年同季的0.41仙。
不过，营业额从8亿9975万令吉，按年上扬3.3%至9亿2904万令吉。
该集团说：“售价上涨并不足以支付更高的材料成本和能源价格上涨，这导致本季度的赚幅和盈利下降。”
该集团表示，由于政府正在审查基建设施项目，导致市场疲软及建筑业增长放缓，但该集团将继续采取措施，以减轻赚幅受到侵蚀所带来的冲击。

（吉隆坡26日讯）销售价格走低，拖累南达钢铁（Southern Steel Bhd）截至6月杪2019财政年第四季净亏3485万令吉，上财年同期则净赚3521万令吉。
这是该钢铁产品制造商连续第三个季度出现净亏，导致全年亏损1亿1905万令吉，而2018财年则录得2亿1085万令吉的净利。
末季营业额从8亿8864万令吉，跌21.6%至6亿9698万令吉。全年营业额报31亿4000万令吉，较2018财年的37亿令吉，按年降18%。
该集团在本财年没有派息，而2018财年派发每股3.5仙的股息。
“正如前几个季度所指，与2018财年同期相比，本季度和本财年迄今的营业额下跌和蒙受税前亏损，很大程度上是由于销售价格下降。”
该集团预计，市场将继续动荡，而政府重启一些基础设施项目的效应将缓慢且不足以解决新业者造成的市场供应过剩情况。
南达钢铁表示，将继续采取措施解决成本问题，确保市场地位不受损害。
