Honda Malaysia has scored a record-high 10,000 bookings of its all-new 2014 Honda City, breaking the company’s previous record of 3,000 bookings in a month, as set by the 2014 Honda CR-V. The new City also marked the highest ever bookings (in a month) for a new model in the Malaysian company’s history.
In meeting the 10,000-strong demand by customers, Honda Malaysia will be introducing a flexible production schedule at its production plant in Pegoh, Melaka to help speed up the process of getting new City owners their cars as soon as possible.
Honda Malaysia, along with the evidence of 10,000 bookings in a month, are confident that customers here are delighting in the new City’s spacious cabin and 536-litre luggage space, as well as its extensive range of features, which include six airbags, Smart Entry, Push Start Button, cruise control, touch panel auto air-conditioning, rear air-conditioning, seven-inch display audio and eight-speaker audio system.
Prior to the record-breaking achievement, Honda Malaysia had recorded a 30 percent increase in sales for the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year. This is due to the impressive sales of the Accord and the CR-V, which were introduced last year. The upward sales trend, along with the all-new City, is in line with the company’s direction in achieving its annual target of 76,000 units.
