Fungates System

我的孩子现在就读的幼儿园是采用fungates system的，听说fungates的中文syllabus比较差，以后孩子上一年级会比较辛苦，有爸妈们可以分享一下吗？

请问你孩子是读哪一间 fungates ？ 是 playschool 还是 kindergarten 了？

我女儿目前读着 3 岁班，幼儿园也是 fungates system 的，3 - 4 岁班的都是以英文教学的 ~~
不过到了 5 岁进入 kindergarten 后，就有得选择要进入中文班还是英文班了，所以我也不必担心她日后上华小一年级会跟不上 ~~

我孩子也是上fungates school ....6岁（5岁开始读），4岁（3岁开始读）。。目前都可以。6岁那个比较喜欢马来文英文。

如果有上chinese enrichment program的就没有问题，那个要额外付费。
我女儿一开始上一年级也很多字不认得，不过慢慢能追上。
fungates的强项应该是英文。但其它的也不太差的。

playschool 不算是正式的上课，是采用游戏来教导的，不是死板板那样对着黑板认字 ~~
playschool 是让 2 - 4岁的孩子为上幼稚园前的准备，也是因为很多双薪家庭为了让孩子可以学习多一点和结交多一点朋友，所以就早早把孩子都送到幼儿园，这样的话孩子就可以在幼儿园学习到一些基础，比如123、ABC、颜色、形状、交通工具、动物、职业等等 ~~
（这是我个人对 playschool 的一些见解罢了）

Playgroup  (2-3yrs old)

Toddlers learn through play and playgroup is the program that gives them plenty of opportunity to learn through quality play experiences. Children are grouped in small groups and do many fun yet meaningful activities together i.e. sand play, water play, blocks play, plenty of songs and rhymes, movement and dance, physical games and outdoor play, fun with numbers and alphabets, vocabulary time, fine motor development, role play and stories. Toddlers learn how to make friends, share, listen to instructions and most importantly, develop a love for learning.


Pre-Kindergarten (4yrs old)

This important bridging program sets in the foundation for further success in kindergarten. Children begin their reading and writing journey – with the basic letter sounds which make up words, writing of ABCs and 123s, and basic numbers concepts etc. There is more hands-on, fun and play in this program as compared to kindergarten. Children are first introduced to a set of reading and writing books (soft-cover) and minimal homework. Pre-kindergarten is available in English / Chinese medium
