ACQUISITION OF NEW SUBSIDIARY

YTL CORPORATION BERHAD - ACQUISITION OF NEW SUBSIDIARY Pursuant to Paragraph 9.19(23) of the Listing Requirements, YTL Corporation Berhad (“YTL Corp” or ”the Company”) wishes to announce that the Company proposes to acquire 2 ordinary shares of par value RM1.00 each representing the entire issued and paid-up share capital of Pinnacle Trend Sdn Bhd (“Pinnacle Trend”) for a cash consideration of RM2.00 ("the Acquisition").  As a result of the Acquisition, Pinnacle Trend will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of YTL Corp. Pinnacle Trend was incorporated on 20 November 2007 with an issued and paid-up share capital of RM2.00 comprising 2 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each. Pinnacle Trend will be principally engaged in the business of investment of properties. 進行人力資源投資‧楊肅斌領導楊忠禮求變
（新加坡）每位企業家背後都埋藏著不為人知的辛酸史，但世人看見的往往只是最光輝的一幕。在建築界縱橫超過30年的楊忠禮機構（YTL，4677；主板建築組）主席丹斯里楊肅斌究竟又會有一個怎樣的故事呢？該公司的前景又如何？且聽聽這位商界第二代怎麼說。

楊肅斌在參與新加坡商務團時透露說：“大家總是認為事情是非常簡單的，但事實超乎這一切。我曾經像希臘君主科林斯王一樣，每次推石上山後，第二天早上又滾了下來。”

然而，他笑言今天的他依然一如科林斯王，但至少今天一些石頭會留在山上。

楊忠禮機構由創辦人楊忠禮家族控制，市值達123億令吉，涉及產業發展、洋灰製造、電力及資訊科技業務。該公司截至2007年12月31日次季淨利上揚24%至1億8933萬令吉，營業額則上漲7%至15億2000萬令吉。

楊忠禮集團由楊肅斌父親丹斯里楊忠禮於1955年所創辦，當時只是一家規模較小的建築公司。楊肅斌則是在1978年加入楊忠禮集團，當時他只有24歲，並擔任公司執行董事。

他指出，儘管公司在1970年時代的石油危機影響時面對財務困境，但他父親還是致力籌錢，將他送往英國唸書。

現年53歲的他表示：“在我的教育上，我父親非常堅決，他察覺他所處的領域存在各種變化，他知道情況將會出現改變。”

他披露，基於父親對他的信任，在他加入公司後，父親非常樂意退位。父親已經做出許多努力，而當時父親也很年輕，但他瞭解整個領域在不斷前進。

他透露，他做的第一項最主要決定就是進行工程師及器材投資，以改變公司的未來，但父親將之視為一項風險，擔心下一個工程的問題。然而，在他的觀念裡，如果你沒有進行人力資源投資，你將會永遠拿不到合約。

楊忠禮集團在後來進軍產業市場，並開始收購大批地段。目前該公司旗下地庫總面積達1億2200萬平方尺，當中地段分別位於市中心或大馬的首要產業地段。該公司也在泰國、印尼及新加坡擁有地庫。

然而，提及楊肅斌最大膽的舉措，應該非1994年進軍發電領域莫屬，當時大馬政府也正開始私有化相關領域。

基於當時外資銀行只以美元進行融資交易，因此他說服政府透過發行15年期限令吉債券來籌資。也因為受外匯牽動的幅度較其他亞洲公司來得低，該公司成功在1990年的經濟蕭條時崛起，並以更佳的優勢擴展海外市場。

該公司於2002年，以24億美元（約76億令吉）（以現有兌換率計算）收購了英國韋塞克斯水供，並在印尼及澳洲擁有發電業務。目前該公司70%營業額來自海外市場貢獻。

進軍沿海開發

楊肅斌的下一步是進軍沿海開發市場，並已在東南亞地區累計沿海地段。

他透露，就如歐洲市場一樣，該地的沿海產業在過去25年上漲了1500%，而這個現象將同樣發生在東南亞產業市場，但這需要最多15年的時間發展，而該公司已在此領域7年了。

（新加坡24日讯）鉴于欧洲沿海产业在过去25年暴涨1500％，在乐观估计同样的情形将发生在东南亚的沿海产业市场下，杨忠礼机构（YTL， 4677， 主板建筑股）下一步将是进军沿海发展市场，並已在东南亚地区累计沿海地段。

杨忠礼机构董事经理丹斯里杨肃斌早前在参与新加坡商务团时透露说，东南亚沿海产业发展需要最多15年，而该集团目前已投身在这个领域近7年。

杨肃斌是一名艺术收藏者，拥有自己的直升机，并在过去今年来不断收购东南亚沿海的产业。

可能在很多人眼中，杨肃斌在商场上拥有令人羡慕的生活，但他指出，“许多人以为很容易，我觉得自己就像希腊神话里的西绪弗斯（Sisyphus），一直永无停息地将巨石推上山顶，到达山顶后石头又会因自己的重量而落回原处。”

在一番自嘲后他笑说，“不过今天，我仍然觉得自己想西绪弗斯，但山顶上至少有一些石头。”

杨忠礼机构市值高达123亿令吉，业务涉及产业发展、洋灰制造、能源及科技资讯领域。

该集团在截至去年12月31日的财政年中的，该公司季度净盈利报1亿8千933万令吉，比起去年同期涨24％，而营业额则涨7％至15亿2千万令吉。

营收15.2亿

该集团是由杨肃斌父亲杨忠礼在1955年创立，当杨肃斌在24岁加入该公司当执行董事时，该公司曾面临财务危机，当时正是1970年的石油危机，不过，杨忠礼仍辛苦筹钱予杨肃斌到英国留学。

杨肃斌回忆说，“我的父亲仍坚持要我念书，因为他知道商场变化莫测。”

在年少的时候，杨肃斌并不像其他少年一样在购物广场或娱乐场溜达，在他16岁的时候，已经到建筑地盘中学习监督计划的发展，并准备随时接受父亲的业务。

他说，“父亲非常信任我，一旦我接受他的生意时，他感到非常开心，父亲非常年轻就创业，不过他也非常清楚整个领域的运作。”

而他第一个影响告诉的决定，就是投资许多工程装备，他指出，“在当时被父亲视为风险，并为下一个合约担心。”

但杨肃斌说，“如果我们不投资在人力资源上，就不会得到合约。”

该公司在80年代开始建立起知名度，利用大量的先进科技，以可以比其它业者更快完成工程合约。
