On behalf of the Board of Directors of WCT, Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad is pleased to announce that Bank Negara Malaysia had, vide its letter dated 14 January 2008 which was received on 17 January 2008, granted its approval for the issuance of warrants pursuant to the Proposed Offer for Sale to shareholders of WCT who are non-residents of Malaysia. Conversion of CRDS-A into Ordinary Shares  

Conversion of CRDS-A into Ordinary Shares in WCT Land Berhad (“WCTL”) by WCT
Engineering Berhad (“WCTE” or “the Company”)
Further to the announcement dated 16 January 2008, WCTE wishes to announce
that, on 21 January 2008, it has been allotted a total of 239,002,000 new
ordinary shares of RM0.50 each credited as fully paid in its subsidiary, WCTL,
through the conversion of RM119,501,000 nominal amount of CRDS-A of RM1.00 each
in WCTL.

With the above allotment, WCTE is currently holding a total of 448,012,144
ordinary shares of RM0.50 each in WCTL representing approximately 79.34% of
WCTL’s existing issued and paid-up ordinary shares.

（吉隆坡訊）繼進軍中東4個國家後，WCT工程（WCT，9679；主板建築組）下個目標鎖定阿曼王國，期望藉與當地夥伴聯營取得基建工程。

WCT工程主席拿督蘇菲安在股東特大後透露：“公司目前在中東的巴林、阿布達比、迪拜和卡達4個國家皆有工程，我們也考慮進軍阿曼王國。”

該公司執行董事羅肇楚指出：“我們傾向於與當地夥伴合作，在當地取得工程。”

WCT工程目前握有總值達70億令吉的工程，未來2年的工作皆有著落。其中70%來自中東4個國家，其餘則來自本地，尚未計入越南的工程。

另一方面，WCT工程繼取得起始投資總值估計達2億美元（約6億5420萬令吉）的越南白金產業發展計劃的投資準證後，正著手為越南的第2項計劃申請投資準證，惟羅肇楚對記者詢及有關計劃的總值，以及何時可取得投資準證時，不置可否。

本地方面，WCT工程目前在沙巴亞庇建設機場，並不排除進一步在當地競標工程，企圖從東馬經濟走廊中獲利，惟蘇菲安拒絕透露詳情。

此外，WCT工程預期於2008年上半年完成將WCT置地（WCTLAND，9156；主板產業組）私有化，並將之自大馬交易所除牌。

詢及WCT置地往後的方向時，羅肇楚披露，該公司將逐漸從城鎮發展轉移至商業發展，而目前旗下商業發展計劃包括武吉丁宜永旺購物廣場和八打靈的Paradigm商業發展計劃。

他表示：“藉進軍商業發展領域，除可多元化旗下產業計劃，更可收取租金，以為公司創造穩定的可再生收入。”

在越南胡志明市的白金广场（Platinum Plaza）计划最近获地方政府批准后，该公司已提呈申请投资执照，在该城市推行第2个发展计划。

执行董事罗秀洲（译音）对The Edge金融日报说：“第2个发展计划将毗邻第一行政区，也是胡志明市的商业中心。它将是综合商业以及住宅产业的发展计划。”

主席拿督阿末苏芬说，WCT工程在中东有极高声誉，它的已完成或是兴建中的发展计划包括巴林国际赛车场以及阿布达比1级方程式赛车场。 该公司也有意参与在阿曼的一个庞大基建发展计划。

在中东的建筑工程目前占大约67％订单，只有一小部份是在马来西亚。然而，该公司有意参与首相拿督斯里阿都拉巴达威将在1月29日推介的沙巴发展走廊计划。
