KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of DRB-Hicom fell to a seven-day low of RM2.30 in late afternoon on Monday, April 11, in line with the cautious market as investors took profit.

At 3.03pm, the FBM KLCI was down 11.71 points to 1,545.78. Turnover was 885.58 million shares valued at RM1.09 billion. Declining stocks hammered advancers 629 to 168 while 247 counters were unchanged.

DRB-Hicom fell 16 sen to RM2.30 the lowest since March 31. There were 14.59 million units done.

Its recent high was RM2.48 on April 6.'' Its net asset per share as at Dec 31, 2010 was RM2.54.

There are expectations that the successful bidder of Khazanah Nasional Bhd's 32% stake in POS MALAYSIA BHD [] would be announced at the Invest Malaysia conference on Tuesday-Wednesday.

Hwang DBS Vickers Research said DRHB-Hicom was expected to be among the front runners for the stake and it recently had a Buy with a Target Price of RM3.80.

The others seeking a stake in Pos Malaysia are Nationwide Express (Not Rated) and Amanah REIT-Malaysia Pacific Corp venture (Not Rated).

KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd, the government's investment arm, has decided on the potential buyer for its 32.21 per cent stake in postal service provider, POS MALAYSIA BHD [].

"We already have a winner in mind," said Khazanah managing director Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar on Wednesday, April 13, adding that there were 50 potential buyers.

However, he declined to narrow the identity of the "winner" but said the names would be submitted to the board later this month.

Among the criteria set for the bidders are ability to provide good premium and unlock Pos Malaysia's values, he told reporters on the sidelines of Invest Malaysia 2011.

News reports and research houses had suggested that the three shortlisted bidders were DRB-HICOM BHD [], NATIONWIDE EXPRESS COURIER SER []vices and a Amanah REIT-Malaysia Pacific Corp joint venture, with offers ranging between RM3.38 and RM4.62 per share. The other two bidders were Scomi Bhd and TRICUBES BHD [].

Asked on the impact of the new Postal Bill, which has yet to be tabled in Parliament, on the deal, Azman said various issues have been factored in, including consultation with industry players.

"Hence, the Bill is not expected to be entirely a surprise," he said.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Malaysia's state investment firm Khazanah Nasional Bhd. will evaluate bids from two shortlisted firms interested in buying its 32.2% stake in postal operator POS Malaysia Bhd. (4634.KU), the New Straits Times reported Friday, citing unnamed sources as saying.

The daily said Khazanah's board members will be meeting later Friday to determine the winner from the shortlisted bidders: DRB-Hicom Bhd. (1619.KU), which is offering the highest cash offer, and Scomi Group Bhd. (7158.KU).

DRB-Hicom is offering about MYR3.60 a share that values Khazanah's stake at MYR622.7 million. The announcement of the winning bidder isn't expected until the latter part of next week, the daily added.

POS Malaysia shares ended flat Thursday at MYR3.55.
