Ø Email: [email protected] PCTH Youth Charity Ride 2014 will be organized by Youth Section of Chinese Town Hall on 21 December 2014, from 7am to 12pm. The theme of this cycling event is RIDE 4 HOPE ( health, culture, parent and child, charity). The Dong Zhi Festival or Winter Solstice Festive is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese community. It is also a time for the family to get together for the making and eating of tangyuan or balls of glutinous rice, which symbolize reunion. As we all know cycling is one of the favourite sports, we would like to take this opportunity to promote Dong Zhi Festival to all the participants from different race. Therefore, there will be an exhibition booth for promoting and explaining this festival. Besides the normal category (26km Charity Ride), there will be a special category for family where the family member can enjoy together in making and eating tangyuan after the Family Ride. That made their day more meaningful. Cycling Routes of 26km Charity Ride is Penang Chinese Town Hall – Queensbay – Penang Chinese Town Hall. Cycling Routes of Family Fun Ride: Penang Chinese Town Hall – Esplanade – Penang Chinese Town Hall Entry Fees for participants 12 years old and below is RM40.00 and RM80.00 for the participants above 12 years old. All riders who register will receive complimentary cycling jersey, food redemption voucher, lucky draw number and medal. There will be also a charity food fair for participants and public for fundraising purpose. 槟华青诚邀您 渡个不一样的冬至节！
“槟华青慈善脚车行”结合身心健康、文化传承、亲子关系和爱心慈善四大元素于同一个活动平台。
众所周知，骑脚车是现今热门的运动之一，不少家庭和年轻人都相约在假日骑脚车。冬至则是中华民族重要的传统节日之一。每一年冬至节，大马华人都会相聚在家里一起搓汤圆吃汤圆，因此冬至节也富有团圆的象征意义。
槟州华人大会堂青年团希望借骑脚车这个贴近大众的体育运动，来传承及发扬冬至这个传统节日，同时锻炼民众身心健康，因此将在今年冬至前夕即2014年12月21日早上七时至中午十二时主办“槟华青慈善脚车行”。槟州华人大会堂为主催单位，槟州华人大会堂文教组则是协办单位。
槟华青会安排工作人员在摆设展览摊格，现场解说冬至节的来源及习俗等，以便参与此活动的友族朋友能够进一步了解中华文化的精髓及提升各族间的交流。
当天除了有26km脚车行组别外，也特设“亲子脚车行”。槟华青鼓励父母亲携带孩子参加此组别。父母和孩子可以一起从槟州华人大会堂骑脚车出发，途经旧关仔角，再回到槟州华人大会堂。脚车行结束后，父母和孩子也可到指定摊格一起搓汤圆吃汤圆，享受天伦之乐，增家亲子互动。26km脚车行的参与者则是从槟州华人大会堂出发，途经皇后湾广场，再回到槟州华人大会堂。
槟华青也会在现场举办慈善义卖会，义款将捐献给槟州华人大会堂慈善教育基金、光华日报读者献爱心、光明公益金、慈济教育基金、巫裔孤儿院（Persekutuan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Islam Pulau Pinang）、圣佐仕孤儿院（St.Joseph’s Home）、拉玛吉士南印度孤儿院（The Ramakrishna Ashrama）。
槟华青也希望借此活动平台和公众提早共庆圣诞佳节。
有兴趣报名“槟华青慈善脚车行”者，可在2014年9月30日前选择上网报名（网址： http://event.howei.com/pcthycr2014），或亲临槟州华人大会堂二楼秘书处填写及呈交报名表格。12岁或以下者的报名费仅四十令吉，12岁以上者的报名费则为八十令吉。每个参与者可获得脚车运动服、食物兑换券、幸运抽奖号码和奖牌。
