Ultimate Android Gaming Handheld - Odin

Hi guys

Recently IGG has a new project which is a Android Handheld by Team AYN
This handheld is using snapdragon 845/dimensity 900, there is lite, base and pro model
It has built-in cooling system which can greatly improve the performance of the device,
base on the testing result posted by the reviewer (Taki discord)
SD845 performance with cooling system can be par with SD860 (without decent cooling and causing thermal throttle-mobile phone)

This handheld can be use for Android Gaming (come with screen button mapping feature) and retro emulation (SNES, GBA, PSP, GAMECUBE etc)
also come with dock which can be use like Nintendo switch, for TV streaming purpose and gaming on big tv purpose

Other than that,
The team will be releasing windows 11 support for this handheld (only for base and pro model), pcsx2 is said to be running well on windows 11, some PC gaming can be run on this device too, but surely the performance can't be compare to the steamdeck.

Summarize:
1) PCB work on going for Odin Lite
2) dock usb design to follow back original design, new design is no good
3) improve shoulder analog trigger experience


4) added function to share button mapping configuration globally


5) added more info on the hovering info bar


6) added different button layout mode, xbox mode and retro mode


7) added force rotate landscape mode


8) Clarification on the SD845 chip is not refurbish chip, chip is totally new and has technical support directly from Qualcomm Snapdragon. Driver for windows 11 is directly supported by Qualcomm team.
(GPD has mock AYN on using refurbished SD845 chip without any prove, this is due to GPD has recently release a android handheld device GPD XP. GPD XP uses helio G95 which is underpowered compare to odin which using SD845 and D900)
its some dirty trick to deframe others and come without any prove

Handheld scene is a mess recently,

1) GPD is really worry on this new company AYN will take over the profit, because of the good spec and decent price for the recent campaign- Odin, GPD project manager keep mocking and defame on AYN, whereas GPD handheld is actually a lot of issue, even joystick holder can be broken.
Taki (Youtuber) the only assigned product reviewer that help to review the product and has been attacked for unknown reason.
All this sum up IMO is that: GPD is worrying on the AYN new product, if they dont, they wouldnt starting the mock and defame

Its easy to compare the spec of the GPD XP that released recently, below is the spec of the device:

2) A youtuber Ash has a heated dicussion with Taki on discord:

Taki and Ash has a youtube channel which both is reviewing on electronic devices, Taki is the only assigned product reviewer by AYN, since then, other than Taki, no one has the Odin prototype device.

Ash is saying Taki BSing on the AYN latest handheld - Odin. he claimed that there is no way handheld company in china to access the SD chip.





What we can see so far from the market, Moqi, Powkiddy, GPD etc hasn't used any SD chip on the handheld device, that's why come to the public saying that SD chip is so hard to be accessed that none of this company able to use the SD chip for the handheld devices.

From what Taki said, company choose not to use the SD chip is because of the profit margin is far less compare to other chip in the market, AYN is the first handheld company who take the risk and challenge to build a SD chip handheld device.

There goes the worry of GPD as they release GPD XP just around the corner
