Leandro Damiao has revealed that he is open to a move to the Premier League, it has been reported.
The Daily Star has reported that both Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in the player, but it was Southampton that made an £18 million bid for the forward earlier this summer.
Furthermore, Brendan Rodgers is still reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, but the Brazilian has revealed any move would have to be right for both himself and his current club.
The article further expressed that although Damiao is open to a move he is also happy to remain at Internacional for the upcoming season.
Additionally, the article reports Damiao commenting on his future, “The first time I was sounded out I was happy, but I have to overcome that now, I am focused on Internacional, it has to be a good offer for me and the club.”
He added, “A lot was said. I am calm, nothing has come and I am still focused on Internacional and in the Brazilian Cup.”
But he did admit that a move was still possible, “If a very good offer comes then maybe it could happen.”
Damiao is firmly a target for Liverpool, but Internacional president Giovanni Luigi is confident that the forward will stay at the club.
He said, “There have been no contacts in the last 15 days, not even speculation. Everything indicates that Leandro Damiao will stay.”
