Having rejected other clubs to join the Southern Tigers, the arrival of Pablo Aimar clearly is another initiative made by the JFA and TMJ himself to promote better football in the state as well as in the country.
柔佛足总会长伊斯迈王储: "[Pablo Aimar] was smiling when he told us that his decision to play with JDT was made ever since he arrived in Johor and he is not just here to play with us, but also to contribute to the development of the football system, even at the academy level once he is retired from playing."
TMJ also insisted that the main objective of Aimar’s decision to play at JDT is not for money.
"He loves Johor and feels that it is a great place for him and his family to settle down.
"Money is not everything for professional footballers like him," TMJ added.
Tunku Ismail also stated that another reason for the Benfica player to come here is because of the Johor fans.
