放心spm应该不会出这样难的啦
form 两个 simultanious equation ，choose one of the equations,then rearrange
get d=。。。，then insert d=。。。 into another equation

thus，replace n=2n
    就是 S2n=  2n/2【2a+(2n-1)d】

If the sum of the first n term of the progression is -12 and the next n term of the progression is 42 , calculate the value of n.

Solution:

Let
Sn = -12           ---(1)
S2n - Sn = 42   ---(2)

From (1), n/2 [2(-10) + (n-1) d] = -12
                           -20n + n&sup2;d - nd = -24   ---(3)

From (2), 【2n/2 [2(-10) + (2n-1) d]】- 【n/2 [2(-10) + (n-1) d]】= 42
                                                                                 -20n + 3n&sup2;d - nd = 84   ---(4)

From (4), d = (84 + 20)/ (3n&sup2; - n)   ---(5)

Substitute (5) into (3), 10n&sup2; - 39n + 27 = 0
                                        (10n - 9)(n - 3) = 0
                                                              n = 3

P(At least 3) = P(X>=3)
                       = P(X=3) + P(X=4) + ... + P(X=12) 太长了=.= 所以我们倒转过来
Therefore:
P(X>=3)        = 1 - P(X=0) - P(X=1) - P(X=2)
                       = 1 - 12C0 (0.3^0)(0.7^12) - 12C1 (0.3^1)(0.7^11) - 12C2 (0.3^2)(0.7^10)
                       = 1 - 0.01384 - 0.07118 - 0.16779
                       = 0.7472

f(x) = /3x - 8/ for  0  <= f(x) <= 4

f(x) = 3x - 8
When x = 0, f(x) = -8.
Since f(x) = /3x - 8/, 我们就把 -ve 的部分换成 +ve, 也就是说 -8 变成 +8.

Range 是看你的 graph 在 Y-axis 的哪一个部分，所以答案就是从 0 到 8 咯..
