Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | SAPURA ENERGY BERHAD AWARD OF CONTRACTS | Sapura Energy Berhad ("Sapura Energy" or the “Company") (“Board”) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiaries have been awarded contracts/contracts extension with a combined value of approximately RM1.279 billion.
Details of each of these contracts/contracts extension/subcontract (collectively referred to as “Contracts”) are as summarised below:
Drilling: Malaysia 1. Provision of Semi Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura Berani” for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn Bhd has been awarded a Letter of Contract Amendment and Extension by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the Provision of Semi Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura Berani". The contract entails the drilling of nine wells at Sumandak, Erb West and Dulang facilities, offshore Sabah and Offshore Peninsular Malaysia. The work related to the nine wells is expected to be completed by Q4 2019.
2. Tender Assist Drilling Rig “Sapura T-9” by Exxonmobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. for the provision of its Tender Assist Drilling Rig “Sapura T-9” services. The scope of the contract comprises the provision of barge tender assisted drilling rig services for a period of three (3) years commencing in the early Q3 FY2020 at Tabu field, offshore Peninsular Malaysia.
Engineering & Construction Gulf of Suez Provision of Installation of Six Subsea Pipelines at Gulf of Suez Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd has been awarded with a subcontract by the main contractor, Pan Marine Petroleum Services Company for the provision of installation of six subsea pipelines at Gulf of Suez for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company, a joint venture between BP plc and The Egyptian General Petroleum Company. The subcontract scope of work comprises of installing six new subsea pipelines in the Gulf of Suez in various locations in the Morgan field with an expected total pipelay of approximately 57 km. The duration of the subcontract works is for 10 months and expected to be completed by Q2 FY2020.
Indonesia Provision of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of Pipeline, ILT, PLETs & Pre-commissioning activities from ENI East Sepinggan Limited Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd jointly in a joint venture with PT Timas Suplindo (“Joint Venture” or the “JV”) has been awarded with a contract for EPCI - 4 Provision and Installation of Pipeline, ILT, PLETs & Pre-commissioning activities from ENI East Sepinggan Limited. The contract scope of work comprises of EPCI of two (2) 16” diameter offshore rigid pipelines from the current Jangkrik facility to a future manifold near Merakes drilling centers in a water depth between 70m to 1400 metres. The total length of the pipeline system is approximately 95km and the scope of work includes design, fabrication and offshore installation of foreseen structures; two (2) deep water Pipeline End Terminations (PLETs) and one (1) In-line Tee (ILT). The works are expected to be completed by FY2020.
Australia Awarded Key Roles by Phoenix International Australia Pty Ltd in Submarine Rescue Service Contract for The Royal Australian Navy Total Marine Technology Pty Ltd (“TMT”) has been awarded key roles by Phoenix International (Australia) in the Submarine Rescue Service contract for The Royal Australian Navy. TMT has been selected to design and fabricate a Remotely Operated Vehicle (“ROV”) including to design and supply the external propulsion and non-life support related electrical and control systems as well as the Submarine Rescue Bell for the contract. The rescue system will be accepted into operational service in 2022 and will be just one of four air transportable systems in the world. The primary mission of the system is to deliver rescue capability to The Royal Australian Navy’s submarine fleet. The system will also be capable of supporting other submarine operating nations by means of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (“NATO”) standard escape hatch.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS The Contracts announced herein will have no effect on the issued capital of the Company and are expected to contribute positively towards the earnings of Sapura Energy Group (“the Group”) for the financial year ending 31 January 2020 and the financial periods thereafter within the Contracts period.
RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the Contracts include execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in pricing, onshore permits to be obtained, weather conditions and/or political, economic and regulatory conditions. Notwithstanding, the Group has established a successful track record undertaking similar projects.
DIRECTORS’ AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS’ INTERESTS None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company and/or persons connected with them have any direct or indirect interest in the award and extension of the Contracts herein.
DIRECTORS’ STATEMENT The Board is of the opinion that the acceptance of the Contracts herein is in the best interest of the Company.

A) SAPURA GLOBAL SERVICES SDN BHD (“SGSSB”) SGSSB was incorporated on 30 May 2019 under the Companies Act 2016 as a private company limited by shares with an issued share capital of RM2.00. SGSSB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SEB.
B) ROV TMT NIGERIA LIMITED (“ROV TMT”) ROV TMT was incorporated on 20 March 2019 under the Federal Republic of Nigeria Companies and Allied Matters Act, 1990 as a company limited by shares with an issued share capital of ₦10,000,000 (ten million naira) divided into 10,000,000 ordinary shares of ₦1.00 each. Total Marine Technology Pty Ltd (“TMTPL”) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sapura Babalon Pty Ltd, both incorporated in Australia hold 80% and 20% interests respectively in ROV TMT. TMTPL is a subsidiary of Sapura Energy Services Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SEB.
C) SAPURA ENERGY VIETNAM LIMITED (“SE Vietnam”) SE Vietnam was incorporated on 27 December 2018 under the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as a one member limited liability company with a chartered capital of 3,375,000,000 VND (equivalent to USD150,000). SE Vietnam is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd which in turn is wholly-owned by SEB.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS The incorporation of the three companies mentioned above are not expected to have any material impact on the SEB group's earning and net assets for the financial year ending 31 January 2020.

The work is expected to be completed by Q3 FY2021.
Malaysia 1. Provision of Transportation and Installation of Subsea Flexible Pipelines and Risers for Layang Development Project for JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Limited Sapura Offshore Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded with a contract for the provision of Transportation and Installation of Subsea Flexible Pipelines and Risers for Layang Development Project by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Limited. The contract scope of work includes transportation and installation of subsea flexible pipeline and risers for the Layang Development Project. The Layang field shall be developed from an unmanned wellhead platform connected with a subsea flexible pipeline to a Floating Production Storage and Offloading. The works are expected to be completed by Q4 FY2020.
Australia 1. Provision of Pluto PLA-07 Light Well Intervention and Subsea Christmas Tree (XT) Installation for Woodside Burrup Pty Ltd Normand Sapura Pty Ltd. has been awarded with a contract for the Pluto PLA-07 Light Well Intervention and XT Installation by Woodside Burrup Pty Ltd. The contract scope of work for PLA-07 RLWI include well jumper fabrication and installation,XT installation, hydraulic flying lead and electrical flying lead installation, suspension plug recovery and pre-commissioning works. The work is expected to be completed by Q4 FY2020.
2. Provision of Light Well Intervention in two wells on the North West Shelf by Woodside Energy Limited Normand Sapura Pty Ltd. has been awarded with a contract for Light Well Intervention in two wells on the North West Shelf by Woodside Energy Limited. The contract scope of work for WA-03 and WA-11 include wireline and slickline operations including the installation of suspension plugs, performing production logging tool runs and installation of straddle patches as required. The work is expected to be completed by Q4 FY2020.

Provision of Subsea Services associated with repair of the Subsea Umbilical System for the Casino Henry and Netherby Electrical Umbilical Backbone Repair Project by Cooper Energy Limited Sapura Projects Pty Ltd. has been awarded with a contract for the provision of Subsea Services associated with repair of the Subsea Umbilical System for the Casino Henry and Netherby (“CHN”) Electrical Umbilical Backbone Repair Project by Cooper Energy Limited. The contract scope of work includes the modification to the existing and installation of new subsea umbilicals and ancillary appurtenances from the Casino 5 UTA to Netherby that forms part of the Casino Henry and Netherby Electrical Backbone Repair project. The work will be completed by Q2 FY2020.
Thailand 1. Provision of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation of FSO2 Riser Hose Replacement for PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited and PTTEP International Limited Sapura Energy (Thailand) Limited has been awarded a contract from PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited and PTTEP International Limited for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and installation of FS02 Riser Hose Replacement in the Gulf of Thailand. The contract scope of work includes project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out and offload, sea fastening, transportation and installation, hook-up, tie-in and pre-commissioning for four sections of new flexible riser hoses at Bongkot gas field in the Gulf of Thailand, with a water depth of approximately 80 meters. The work is expected to be completed by Q2 FY2020.
2. Provision of Remotely Operated Vehicle (“ROV”) Services for Subsea Inspection, Repair and Maintenance for PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited and PTTEP International Limited Sapura Energy (Thailand) Limited has been awarded with a three (3) years contract from PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited and PTTEP International Limited for the provision of ROV inspection services for subsea inspection, repair and maintenance in the Gulf of Thailand. The contract scope of work includes planned and unplanned ROV inspection activities in Bongkot and Arthit gas fields located offshore in the Gulf of Thailand mainly for structural inspection, pipeline inspection, freespan correction and associated miscellaneous works, with a water depth of approximately 80 meters. The contract will end in Q4 FY2022.
Drilling: Malaysia 1. Provision of Semi Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura Esperanza” for Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded with a contract by Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited for the provision of its Semi Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura Esperanza” services. The scope of the contract comprises the provision of semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig services for two (2) wells commencing from mid-second quarter of FY2020 at F14 field, offshore Malaysia. The contract is assorted of multiple extension periods cumulating seventeen (17) additional wells in aggregate.
2. Provision of Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura T-10” for West Lutong Drilling Programme for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded with a contract by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. for the provision of Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura T-10” for West Lutong Drilling Programme. The scope of contract comprises the drilling of four (4) wells commencing in fourth quarter of FY2020 with extension options of one (1) well + one (1) well.
Thailand 1. Provision of Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura T-18” for Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production Limited Sapura Drilling Asia Limited has been awarded a contract by Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production Limited for the provision of its Tender Assisted Drilling Rig “Sapura T-18”. The scope of the contract comprises the provision of the tender assisted drilling rig offshore Thailand for a period of one (1) year with additional optional periods of up to twelve (12) months commencing mid-second quarter of FY2020.
Other: In addition, Sapura Fabrication Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded by PETROLIAM NASIONAL BERHAD to undertake the scope of work defined below for the PETRONAS Frame Agreement for the Provision of EPC for both Package A : Fixed Offshore Structures of Weight exceeding (>;) 7,500 MT and Package B: Fixed Offshore Structures of Weight not exceeding or equal to (<;) 7,500 MT. The contract will be used by and shall be applicable to the Petroleum Arrangement Contractors (PAC) which includes but not limited to the following: 1. PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd; 2. The scope of work includes Surveys (pre-engineering, post construction/pre-installation and post installation), Design, Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Load Out, Tie Down/Sea Fastening Tow-out/Sail Out, Transportation, Installation, Hook-Up, Testing, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of the fixed structures. The contract is for a period of 6 years and the works to be performed based on a call-out basis and the value of the contract is dependent on each work order throughout the contract period.
FINANCIAL EFFECTS The Contracts announced herein will have no effect on the issued capital of the Company and are expected to contribute positively towards the earnings of Sapura Energy Group (“the Group”) for the financial year ending 31 January 2020 and the financial periods thereafter within the Contracts period.
RISK FACTORS Risk factors affecting the Contracts include execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in pricing, onshore permits to be obtained, weather conditions and/or political, economic and regulatory conditions. Details of each of these contracts/contract extensions (collectively referred to as “Contracts”) are as summarised below:
Engineering & Construction: Brunei AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION (EPCI) FOR THE SALMAN PROJECT Sapura Fabrication Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a contract from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn. Bhd. for the provision of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) works for the Salman Project in Brunei.
The scope of work for the Contract is divided into two (2) parts as follows: - (a) Part 1- Salman Greenfield scope The scope consists of detailed design engineering, procurement, construction or fabrication, transportation and installation (EPCI) and support for hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning for the following five (5) packages: - (i) Well-head platform and substructures (SLWJ-01) - Package 1 (ii) Water injection pipeline and umbilical from CPWA-07 - Package 2 (iii) HP oil pipeline to Selangkir (SKWJ-01) - Package 3 (iv) Water and chemical injection module in CPWA-07 - Package 4 (v) Kuala Belait Marine construction yard (MCY) upgrade - Package 5
(b) Part 2 – Egret East Greenfield scope Front End Engineering Design (FEED) followed by an optional engineering, construction, procurement and optional installation (EPC(I)) scope up to the completion of the work covering Egret East scope. The Egret East scope covers the following packages: - (i) Well head platform and substructures - Package 1 (ii) Oil and gas export pipelines to Egret Main (EGDP-01) - Package 2 The duration of the firm scopes for part 1 and FEED for part 2 will be for a period of three (3) years commencing from FY2020 and ending approximately in FY2023.
Malaysia PROVISION OF PROCUREMENT, CONSTRUCTION, HOOK UP AND COMMISSIONING (PCC) WORKS OF BNJT-K BN-84 WELL TIE-IN FOR BARDEGG-2 AND BARONIA ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY (EOR) DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN BHD Sapura Fabrication Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a contract for the provision of Procurement, Construction, Hook-up and Commissioning (PCC) works of BNJT-K BN-84 Well Tie-In for Bardegg-2 and Baronia EOR Development Project from PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. The Contract scope of work consists of procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up of the BNJT-K BN-84 well tie-in. The scope of work also includes project management, administration, fabrication engineering and pre-engineering of the materials, as well as hook-up and commissioning of the well start-up. Works are expected to be completed by Q3 FY2020.
Drilling: Thailand AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TENDER ASSIST DRILLING RIG “SAPURA T-17” BY PTT EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED Sapura Drilling Asia Limited has been awarded a contract by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited for the provision of its tender assist drilling rig “Sapura T-17” services. The scope of work comprises the provision of barge tender-assist drilling rig services for one (1) year commencing Q1 FY2021 plus options for extension, at the Bongkot field, offshore Gulf of Thailand.
Malaysia LETTER OF CONTRACT AMENDMENT AND EXTENSION BY PETRONAS CARIGALI SDN. BHD FOR THE PROVISION OF SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE TENDER-ASSIST DRILLING RIG “SAPURA BERANI” Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a Letter of Contract Amendment and Extension by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. for the provision of semi-submersible tender-assist drilling rig, “Sapura Berani”. The Contract entails the drilling of five (5) additional wells at Erb West, offshore Sabah and Dulang facilities, offshore Peninsular Malaysia. The work related to the five wells is expected to be completed by Q2 FY2021.
Brunei EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE TENDER-ASSIST DRILLING RIG “SAPURA PELAUT” FROM BRUNEI SHELL PETROLEUM COMPANY SDN. BHD. Sapura Drilling Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded a contract extension from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn. Bhd. for the provision of a semi-submersible tender-assist drilling rig, “Sapura Pelaut”, and drilling services. The scope of the Contract Extension comprises the provision of a semi-submersible tender-assist drilling rig for a firm period of one (1) year from Q1 FY2021.

The Contract scope of work comprises engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the following: - A) Bergading Wellhead Platform B (“Bergading WHPB”). B) 12’ diameter corrosion-resistant alloy rigid trunk line (“Pipeline”) approximately 7.3 km from Bergading WHPB to Bergading Central Processing Platform (“Bergading CPP”). C) Subsea Power and Telecommunication link (“Subsea Umbilical”) approximately 7.3 km from Bergading CPP to Bergading WHPB and Topsides Umbilical Termination Unit (TUTU). D) Pipeline tie-ins, effective telecommunications, control and power (collectively “CPP Brownfield Works”) for Brownfield modification works at the Bergading CPP. The scope of offshore transportation and installation work is optional and is not inclusive in the award and Hess will notify SFSB in writing if this option is exercised. The works are expected to be completed by Q2 FY2022.
Mozambique AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR PROVISION OF SUBSEA INSTALLATION VESSEL FROM MOZAMBIQUE ROVUMA VENTURE S.p.A. Sapura Energy DMCC has been awarded with a contract for the provision of Subsea Installation Vessel by Mozambique Rovuma Venture S.p.A. The Contract scope of work includes the transportation and installation of Christmas Trees in deep water offshore Mozambique of the Area 4 Rovuma Basin. The works are expected to be completed by Q4 FY2021.
Brazil EXTENSION OF CONTRACT FOR THE CHARTER AND OPERATIONS OF PIPE LAYING VESSELS FROM PETROLEO BRASILEIRO S.A. (“PETROBRAS”) Further to the announcement dated 27 June 2013 pursuant to the award of contracts for the charter and operation of three (3) units of Pipe Laying Support Vessels from Petrobras, Sapura Navegacao Maritama S.A. has been awarded an extension of charter for one of the vessels, Sapura Topazio, in the said contract by Petrobras in Brazil. The Contract will commence in Q4 FY2020 and scheduled to end in Q4 FY2021.
Drilling: Malaysia EXERCISE OF CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE TENDER ASSIST DRILLING RIG SAPURA ESPERANZA WITH SARAWAK SHELL BERHAD / SABAH SHELL PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED. Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn. Bhd. has accepted the exercise of its contract extension (“Contract Extension”) with Sarawak Shell Berhad / Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited (“Shell”) for the provision of its Semi-Submersible Tender Assist Drilling Rig, Sapura Esperanza. The Contract Extension entails the drilling of six (6) wells for Malikai Phase 2 drilling campaign, in offshore Sabah. The work related to the 6 wells is expected to commence in Q3 FY2021.
