是时候开始重生了。。。古陈加油吧。。。就算剩下一个支持者，还是要撑下去。

Kien Keat too arrogant for his own good, says Rexy

KUALA LUMPUR: Coach Rexy Mainaky sees Koo Kien Keat hitting the road of decline in his badminton career with his arrogant attitude.

Rexy was disappointed with the failure of Kien Keat and his partner, Tan Boon Heong, in the Beijing Olympics where they crashed to a tame quarter-final defeat by eventual champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia.

In his post analysis of his charges’ performances and conduct at the Beijing Games, Rexy was most irked by Kien Keat’s attitude.

“I can accept the defeat (in Beijing) but not the manner in which they took the defeat. I think that Kien Keat’s biggest problem is his arrogance. I would not mind if this is shown on court but unfortunately, he is also arrogant off-court,” said Rexy.

Rexy gave a few examples of misconducts, including “a disappearing act” without notifying him or the team manager after the defeat in the Games.

“Yes, Koo is a top player. But all these, successes and praises, will go to past one day. He may think he is still good even though the results showed otherwise,” said Rexy yesterday before presenting his report to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) coaching and training committee.

“My job as a coach is not only to make him a good player but also a player with humility and good attitude. When you are humble, others will pray that you will succeed.

“Maybe, I am not the best coach to help him to be a better player. I will let the BAM decide on his future with Boon Heong.”

Rexy said that he did not mean to be a sour grape by hurling criticisms at Kien Keat.

“Of course, whatever I say now will be construed wrongly, especially when it is done after the failure at the Beijing Games. But I mean well. I only want the best for my players,” he said.

The Indonesian, who had many times poured out his frustrations over the lack of commitment from Kien Keat-Boon Heong, still believes that there is hope for the pair.

“There is hope if Koo can think and act the same way as he did when he was winning titles after titles in 2007,” said Rexy.

“If Koo can get his act right with Tan, then, I am confident that they will be the strongest candidate for Malaysia at the 2012 London Olympics.”

Kien Keat-Boon Heong were overnight sensations since they won the Asian Games gold medal in Doha in December, 2006. They went on to win the prestigious All-England and the Open titles in Malaysia, Switzerland, Denmark, Macau and the Philippines.

But their form has turned cold this year.

烈西：伦敦奥运夺金希望  古健杰需改态度

（吉隆坡4日讯）骄兵必败，是千古不变的真理！
国家羽球队双打总教练烈西剖析，古健杰以自我为中心的大头症，是造成他和陈文宏这支配搭成绩一落千丈的最主要原因。在北京奥运会，他俩在复赛被印尼世界冠军马基斯与亨特拉以直落两局打败。

无论如何，烈西认为，如果古健杰能够认清问题的所在诚心悔改，这对拍档依然是羽球队在2012年伦敦奥运会，最具抢金实力的单位。

骄傲心态作祟

这位印尼籍教练昨午出席大马羽总教练及训练委员会会议前夕，在《星报》的访问中说：“我能够接受败仗，但是不是他们看待败仗的态度。我想健杰最大的问题，是他的骄傲心态；如果这种心态只出现在球场上，我不会在意；不幸的是，他在场外同样自大。”

烈西例举一、二佐证，包括在京奥遭淘汰后，古健杰在没有通报他或领队的情况下擅自外出。

“的确，古健杰是位顶尖球员，但是所有的成就及赞美，有一天都会成为过眼云烟；他也许仍然以为自己依然很棒、虽然成绩适得其反。”

烈西以爱之深责之切的语气说：“作为教练，我的工作不仅是将他训练成为一位好的球员，而是成为一位有礼及行为良好的球员；当你谦虚，别人甚至会祈祷你能成功。”

“也许，我不是一位能够协助将他，训练成为一位更好球员的最佳教练人选。他和陈文宏的前程，我交由大马羽总决定。”

烈西也强调，自己并非以为自己开脱或酸葡萄的心态，作出这些批评。

“当然，我所说的，也许会被一些人认为别有用心，特别是京奥的失败之后；但这是我的肺腑之言；我诚心想为他们好。”

2008年未破蛋

“如果古健杰能够言行一致重拾2007年时的心态，我想这支组合还是有希望的。如果古能够好好的与陈配合；那么我相信他们将是马来西亚队在2012年伦敦奥运会问鼎金牌的最大希望。”

古健杰与陈文宏在2006年亚洲运动会一鸣惊人，2007年横扫6个公开赛冠军，一下子被捧上了天；但是2008年形势逆转，他们在今年的国际比赛，还没有“破蛋”；烈西在3月的全英及瑞士公开赛期间，就曾点名批评古健杰自大，不信任拍档；古健杰也曾许诺悔改。

Comment not directed only to Koo but all the players, says Rexy

PETALING JAYA: Coach Rexy Mainaky clarified yesterday that his comment on arrogance was not directed solely at Koo Kien Keat but to all the doubles players under his charge.

And he hoped that the future generation of players would adopt better attitude in embracing victories and accepting defeats.

On Wednesday, prior to the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) coaching and training committee meeting, Rexy expressed his views on the current doubles players in the national team, especially on those who took part at the recent Beijing Olympics – Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah and Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.

“I had intended the talk on arrogance to be a general statement of the men’s doubles players. I did not mean it to be directed to one single player,” he said.

Rexy added that he would work on solutions to make the men’s doubles department a potent force with lots of talent.

“I invited Koo and Tan for dinner on the fifth day after the team returned from Beijing. It was good to chat with them. But more work is needed to get them back to where they were,” he added.

Much hopes were placed on Kien Keat-Boon Heong in Beijing but they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by eventual gold medallists Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia.

原来雷西口中态度自大的球员不止健杰一个，大马的大爷球员怎么那么多呢？有必要反省一下。

Rexy gives top pair another go

NATIONAL doubles coach Rexy Mainaky has softened his stance with temperamental doubles pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and has given them an additional four months to save their playing career.

Rexy, after seeing one failure too many from his once top pair, had initially given them just two tournaments — the China Masters (Sept 23-28) and Macau Open (Sept 30-Oct 5) — to show good improvement or face a split.

But now, Kien Keat-Boon Heong, whose semi-final appearance in the Asian Badminton Championships in April was their best result this year, will get the opportunity to compete in six events to prove they still have what it takes.

The other four being the Denmark (Oct 21-26), French (Oct 28-Nov 2), China (Nov 18-23) and Hong Kong (Nov 25-30) Opens, which should either see them remain as a pair or begin new challenges with different partners.

Rexy said he is not on a witch-hunt after the pair’s failure at the Beijing Olympics but wants Kien Keat-Boon Heong to bounce back quickly.

“I’m not trying to penalise them because they lost in Beijing but they must realise their mistakes quickly and bounce back. This is why I’m giving a slightly longer period for them to prove their worth,” said Rexy.

“They have got only one semi-final to show for this year and that’s not their quality and Kien Keat-Boon Heong know this.

“If they continue losing in the first or second round all the time, they will realise themselves that a change in partnership is inevitable.

“If they still continue producing the same results, they give us no choice. We (coaches) will only look stupid if we allow them to continue as a pair if the current opportunity is not utilised wisely.”

Kien Keat, after his outburst that Boon Heong and himself would quit the national team if they are split-up, refrained from making any comments but vowed to give his best in the coming tournaments.

If Kien Keat-Boon Heong’s form does not pick up, there is a strong possibility they will be competing with new partners in January’s Malaysia Open.

虽然不断让人失望，可是机会还是一次又一次地给，可见古陈还是雷西的心肝宝贝。希望他们争气了。

古健杰如果不会反省,不控制自己的私生活,拆伙是好事...绝不能因为他个人的傲慢影响不断进步的陈文宏..不好好珍惜烈西,就跟蛤菲兹一起抱着全英冠军等退休吧!:@
