Toyota has pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the 2012 Corolla Axio, which has been recently revealed on its local auto market.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the 2012 Toyota Corolla Axio has a 2,600 mm wheelbase, which is actually the same as the previous two generations of the model, but the Axio is now lighter, with the heaviest 2WD model weighing 1,090 kg, but with the all-wheel drive system, the weight grows up to 1,200 kg. Toyota says that the new Corolla Axio can accommodate three people on the rear seats and the main components of the suspension have been modified in order to offer stability while cruising and comfortable maneuvering.
The 2012 Toyota Corolla Axio is available with two engines, a 1.3 liter Dual VVT-I 1NR-FE, which is developing a total output of 95 PS and it has a peak torque of 121 Nm, and a larger 1.5 liter four-cylinder 1NZ-FE, with 110 PS and 16 valves. The 2012 Toyota Corolla Axio is available with grey and beige interior trimmings and the color scheme is also applied to the roof, doors and fascia of the dashboard. Even if the model has been officially presented, prices haven’t been announced just yet, but rumors are saying that the model will cost around 24,000 USD.
