Megan Registered Robust Sales and Profit Growth for Financial Year Ended 2005

Megan Media Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries ("Megan" or "the Group") had on 29 June 2005 released its fourth quarter and year end results to the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

The Group registered robust results for the financial year ended (FYE) 30 April 2005, with revenue of RM905 million and profit after tax of RM66 million.

Year To Date 2005 versus Year To Date 2004

Revenue increased by RM320 million, a double digit growth of 55% from RM585 million in the corresponding period of the preceding year to RM905 million. The increase was driven primarily by the whole year contribution from MJC (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary which was acquired in December 2003 and higher contribution from its optical media storage products such as the Compact Disc-Recordables (CD-R) and Digital Versatile Disc-Recordables (DVD-R).

EBITDA surged significantly by 79% to RM210 million from RM117 million (excluding negative goodwill recognized in FYE 2004). EBITDA margin improved to 23% from 20% recorded in the corresponding period as a result of economies of scale and continuing cost management.

Fourth Quarter 2005 versus Third Quarter 2005

Megan recorded an after tax profit of RM21 million in the fourth quarter of 2005 representing an increase of RM5 million against the third quarter results. Revenue increased by 26% from the previous quarter to RM268 million mainly due to higher sales of DVD-R.

Dividend

In view of the outstanding performance, the Board has proposed a final tax exempt dividend of 2.5 sen per share. This is in addition to the 1.5 sen tax exempt interim dividend already paid for the first half of FYE 2005, bringing total tax exempt dividend declared in FYE 2005 to 4.0 sen per share. This is higher than the total gross dividend of 3.0 sen per share paid in last FYE 2004.

Business Outlook

The volatility in crude oil prices since the end of year 2004 has impacted higher raw material cost of polycarbonate which was partially offset by the lower cost of other raw materials such as dye and silver target. Despite this back drop, Megan remains optimistic of continuing cost management efforts and increased in its scale of operations, and is looking forward to achieve sustainable results on its strong fundamentals.

Financial year ended 2005 was a busy and challenging year for Megan as management has taken a quantum leap in adding its DVD-R capacity since the last financial year. Cheaper DVD players and recorders will continue to fuel demand for DVD-R products, and the outlook for the retail business remains promising. Megan will continue to focus on developing its capabilities in optical media storage products. With that, Megan is set to achieve better performance and to remain competitive in the growing industry.

这样的做法也许能够在短期内刺激股价，但对长期投资者来说却是一件很可悲的事 。。

不好意思,糊涂大大,你做的功课,数据都是从quarter report里拿来的吗?好详细,也好快,今天出,今天就弄好了

基本上可以那么说,因为赚来的钱,retained着,就算入shareholders' fund
不过也有看情形,shareholders' fund大,可能是那家公司少发divident

不过shareholders' fund少就蛮危险
出现负数就得进PN 4了

哈罗 糊涂坛主，真是有劳了，谢谢你的数据图表。

不过，2005 Q4的Revenue应该是 267,602， 而不是 207,602。

如果这个数据改正过来了，那么Profit Margin将从原来的7.11%变成了5.51%了。

再看2005年Q1到Q4的这个Profit Margin，它是在Q4急速下跌的，跌了将近2%，够力。

没有褒贬Megan的意思，纯粹拿它的数据来说话。

很巧，它的Property, plant and equipment总值也是7.15亿。
很有趣，究竟是什么资产能够值那么多钱呢？ 看来这次的年报可有许多好东西研究了。

今年的业绩其实并不好，若没有税务回扣的话，成绩单怎么会那么亮眼？

预料明年折旧与利息开销会比今年多出许多，这Megan看来真的是“没岸”耶！

现在的油价屡创新高，看来下季度的赚益可就会更为微薄了。
