经济不明朗新政策冲击 太平洋与东方业绩看淡

（吉隆坡17日讯）今年经济不明朗，加上新政策不利保险业，太平洋与东方（P&O，6009，主板金融股）不乐观地认为，今年业绩增长将较往年逊色。

该公司总执行长曾台成今天在股东大会后表示，全球经济前景不明朗，加剧了保险业的挑战。

“大马拥有大大小小、国内外的保险公司，行内竞争很激烈。坦白说，我不期望今年的业绩增长记录可如同往年。”

他也表示，今年重点是维持现有业务的营运稳定，同时寻找和研究潜在商机。

“我们需要稳住阵脚，先喘一口气，休息一下。”

太平洋与东方截至去年9月杪财年全年，营业额按年微扬0.28%，报5亿6314万7000令吉，净利微升0.12%，达3690万9000令吉。

2013财年，太平洋与东方的市占率约有6%，核心业务和主要收入来源是汽车保险。

放眼业务多元化

针对车险业务，曾台成表示，我国汽车销售量每年稳定增长，这也意味着这个领域的增长空间也一直在增长。

“但我们不能只依赖汽车保险业务。未来，我们会多元化业务。”

他强调，近期内不会有大型企业活动，也不会开拓更多保险产品，如普险和寿险。

“中短期内，我们也没有合并的打算。”

重点发展高科技业

除了汽车保险，曾台成表示，高科技业务是太平洋与东方的未来重点发展业务。

目前，该公司的高科技业务，包括开发和供应保险和工作流程综合软件，以及保安闭路电视服务。

相关业务最大收入来源来自国外市场，但对业绩贡献并不明显。

“虽然目前贡献微不足道，但我们看见国外市场的需求渐高，相信该业务的贡献率会越来越高。”

伦敦设子公司进军房产

去年中，太平洋与东方在英国伦敦设立子公司，准备进军当地房地产领域。

曾台成表示，该子公司目前还没有业务，还在等待对的时机。

“我们设立子公司不代表马上就要发展，而是先研究和熟悉市场。”

他认为，目前英国房地产价值偏高，但却比其他市场的抗跌性高，就算市场走弱，当地的房地产业不会贬值得离谱。

“然而，要是升值，伦敦却比任何地方都还要快。”

他披露，第一步是收购当地的土地或产业。

太平洋东方2454 万美购地

（吉隆坡24日讯）太平洋与东方（P&O，6009，主板金融股）独资子公司———太平洋与东方环球科技公司，向美国特拉华州Bianca投资公司购买1块位于佛罗里达的永久地皮，总值741万8000美元（约2454万令吉）。

根据文告，该空置的地皮面积3.22英亩，或相等于14万697平方尺，未来有潜能发展为综合产业项目，涵盖住宅与商用产业。

该公司指出，这块地皮附近即将建造1间购物中心，相信有助于推高该地皮的净价值及发展潜能，并期望公司可从该地皮的未来盈利潜能与资本增长中受惠。

该公司将通过内部融资，来支付上述交易，并预计可在4个月内完成。【南洋网财经】

（吉隆坡12日讯）因土地检验结果不理想，太平洋与东方（P&O，6009，主板金融股）宣布取消早前在美国佛罗里达购地的合约。

其独资子公司太平洋与东方环球科技，在3月24日向美国特拉华州Bianca投资公司，购买一块位于佛罗里达的永久地皮，总值741万8000美元（约2454万令吉）。

根据文告，该空地面积3.22英亩，或相等于14万697平方尺，未来有潜能发展为综合产业项目，涵盖住宅与商用产业。

（吉隆坡26日讯）太平洋与东方（P&O，6009，主板金融股）斥资830万美元（约2781万3300令吉），于美国迈阿密购地。

该公司向马交所报备，已在前日与地主签署购地合约，购下面积达3万3600平方尺的永久地契土地。

该土地位于迈阿密的North Bay Village，相关土地被划分为住宅发展用途，土地上未有任何建筑物。
