QPR CLINCH BEN GLADWIN SIGNING
PUBLISHED 16:30 28th May 2015 by @QPRFC Rangers swoop for versatile Swindon attacker, Ben Gladwin ... - QPR sign Ben Gladwin from League One side Swindon Town
- 22-year-old joins on a three-year contract
- He follows Robins teammate Massimo Luongo to Loftus Road
Ben Gladwin has joined QPR from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.
The versatile 22-year-old has signed a three year deal in W12, following former Robins team-mate Massimo Luongo to Loftus Road.
Like Luongo, Gladwin played a leading role in Swindon’s run to the League One Play-Off Final in 2014/15, with eight of his 11 goals coming in the final seven fixtures of the campaign.
He told www.qpr.co.uk: “I’m really pleased to be joining the club – and I’m really excited.
“There was interest from the Premier League but for me, personally, I think this move is a little more realistic at this stage of my career. Playing is what it’s all about. Sitting on the bench is no way to improve your game.
“Chris Ramsey is a fantastic coach and I’m sure he’ll improve me on the training pitch. I spoke to him earlier this week and was hugely impressed by what he had to say and where he sees me fitting in.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to about QPR said it would be a good move for me. I can’t wait to get going here.”
IN A SPIN: Ben Gladwin moved to Loftus Road quickly following the conclusion of Swindon's season
QPR Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, is relishing the opportunity to work with the promising attacker, commenting: “Ben’s a fine addition for us and someone myself and Les have been monitoring for some time.
“I'm happy we've persuaded him to come here because there was a lot of interest from other clubs, some in the Premier League. He just wants to come in and play and he'll get that opportunity with us.
“I'm looking forward to coaching him and working with a player I believe can only keep improving.”

RUBEN GNANALINGAM APPOINTED QPR CO-CHAIRMAN
PUBLISHED 09:20 15th June 2015 by @QPRFC Club announces change at Boardroom level, with Gnanalingam named Co-Chairman alongside Fernandes ... - QPR name Ruben Gnanalingham as Co-Chairman
- Gnanalingham to work alongside Tony Fernandes
RUBEN Gnanalingam has been named Co-Chairman at QPR, working alongside Tony Fernandes.
The change, which is immediate, will see Gnanalingam play a more active role in the day-to-day running of the club, working closely with Fernandes across all areas of the business.
The pair will work together in conjunction with the senior management team at the club, led by newly-appointed CEO Lee Hoos and Director of Football, Les Ferdinand.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Gnanalingam said: “I have come on board in a more hands-on role to provide Tony with support across various areas of the club.
“Working as Co-Chairmen allows us to commit more time to QPR both individually and as a collective unit, making decisions together, whilst focusing on our specific duties.
“We are fully aware of the rebuilding task that is required at the club. It will take time, but – as a group of Shareholders – we remain 100% committed to QPR.
“I am excited and confident about how this relationship will work, as we look to get the club back on a sound footing.
“I am eager to just get down to work. The time for talking will come later.”
Fernandes added: “I’m really pleased with the new set-up and confident our individual strengths will enable us to dovetail efficiently in the best interests of the club, providing effective leadership to Lee and Les.
“We know we have a lot of work to do in terms of re-establishing the traditions of QPR, but with two of us working at closer quarters with the senior management team that we have in place at the club, we believe we can create a positive future in the short, medium and long term.”

QPR SIGN GERMAN STRIKER SEBASTIAN POLTER

PUBLISHED 14:30 2nd July 2015 by @QPRFC Front-man pens deal to become QPR’s fifth signing of the summer ... - Striker Sebastian Polter joins QPR from German side FSV Mainz
- Polter signs a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee from the Bundesliga side
- German forward is Chris Ramsey's fifth signing of the season
QPR have completed the signing of German striker Sebastian Polter from FSV Mainz 05.
Polter, 24, arrives on a three year deal, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with the Bundesliga side for his services.
Polter, who spent last season on loan at FC Berlin, scoring an impressive 14 goals in 29 appearances, is excited about the challenge of playing in England, commenting: “I'm really happy to be here.
“It's my dream to play in England, so I couldn't be happier.
“To play for Queens Park Rangers, at this stage of my career, is really good for me and something I am very excited about.
“It's a physical league, but I'm a physical player, a team player, and I feel I will adapt.
“I’m really looking forward to playing here at Loftus Road in front of the supporters.”

WELCOME: Les Ferdinand greets Sebastian Polter on his arrival
R’s Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, believes Polter’s game is well-suited to English football, telling www.qpr.co.uk: “I am pleased to bring Seb in. He’s a player who has been under the radar a little bit, and our scouts have done a good job in identifying him. I am really looking forward to working with him.
“He fits the description of what we need for the Championship, he’s got a good goalscoring record and looks a very good player.
“He reminds me of a Bobby Zamora of a few years ago, and if he can emulate anything like Bobby achieved here, that will be brilliant for the club.
“I am sure he will enjoy working with us. This is a great club for him to come to in order to prove himself.
“This is another piece of the jig-saw, but we are obviously still looking for more players.”
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “We're delighted to have Seb here. He's a player we've scouted extensively – and all our reports have been positive.
“He scored a lot of goals in the second tier in Germany last year and he's got great potential to keep improving as a player.
“There was lots of interest for him from Bundesliga clubs but he feels, as we do, that his game is suited to English football, and he has a great desire to prove himself in this country.”

QPR'S ITALY TOUR SQUAD CONFIRMED
PUBLISHED 09:00 9th July 2015 by @QPRFC 24-man squad confirmed for QPR's pre-season training camp in Italy ... - QPR head to Italy later today for nine-days
- Chris Ramsey confirms 24-man travelling first team squad
- Trialists Oscar Goburn and Chris Schorch part of travelling party
- Armand Traore to remain in England following injury
QPR have named a 24-man squad for their pre-season training camp in Italy, which commences later today.
The squad depart from Heathrow this afternoon, ahead of a nine day tour in Stresa, which includes friendly fixtures against Shakhtar Donetsk, AS Monaco and Al Ittihad.
The travelling party includes international trio Rob Green, Leroy Fer and Charlie Austin, who all reported back for training earlier this week, as well as summer signings Massimo Luongo, Ben Gladwin, Jamie Mackie, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Sebastian Polter.
Young trio Darnell Furlong, Brandon Comley and Reece Grego-Cox are also included.
R’s Head Coach Chris Ramsey has also named trialists Chris Schorch and Oscar Gobern in his squad.
German defender Schorch is a free agent following his release from MSV Duisburg, as is former Huddersfield Town midfielder Gobern.
Armand Traore misses out owing to a minor muscle injury.
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, told www.qpr.co.uk: “It’s a really important trip for us.
“Pre-season training camps are always vital and this one will be no different, especially with the vast changes to the squad here over the summer.
“It’s a big team bonding opportunity for the lads, especially those new players who have only been here a couple of weeks at the most.”
He added: “The games are important in terms of ticking things over.
“The standard of the opposition are strong in Italy, but results aren’t the be all and end all.
“Of course we’ll be going out to perform and try and win, but there’s too much emphasis put on results at this time of year.
“You can only judge teams when the season gets underway – that’s the true test.”

QPR SIGN DUTCH ACE TJARONN CHERY
PUBLISHED 18:50 20th July 2015 by @QPRFC Rangers complete signing of Groningen attacker on three year deal ... - Dutch attacker Tjaronn Chery signs for QPR
- 27-year-old agrees a three-year deal at Loftus Road
- He joins from FC Groningen after the R's activate release clause
QPR have completed the signing of highly-rated Dutch ace Tjaronn Chery.
The 27 year-old has signed a three year deal at Loftus Road, after Rangers activated an undisclosed release clause with FC Groningen for the attacker’s services.
Chery becomes QPR’s sixth signing of the summer and his arrival represents a significant coup for the R’s, who beat off stiff competition from a number of other clubs to clinch his signature.
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, told www.qpr.co.uk: “We’ve been trying to get this one over the line for a while now, so we’re delighted it’s finalised.
“There were a lot of clubs in for him, including some from the Premier League, so it’s pleasing that he’s decided to come here.
“He had offers to earn much more money elsewhere, but he’s chosen QPR because he feels he can progress here as a player and that’s fantastic.
“You hear a lot these days about players being versatile and we’ve certainly got that going forward now. Tjaronn is another one that fits in that mould. He can rotate across that front-line and is very effective in a central or wide role.”
ARRIVAL: Director of Football Les Ferdinand greets Tjaronn Chery
An attacking midfielder with an impressive goalscoring record, last season was the most prolific of Chery’s career to date, scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances in the Eredivisie.
He is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career in West London, adding: “I am very happy to be here and looking forward to playing for QPR.
“Playing in England has always been a dream of mine and having spoken to Leroy (Fer), he said that QPR is a good fit for me.
“I know the passion of the English fans and how they like to see football played and I can’t wait to show what I can do here. It’s a really exciting move for me in the best years of my career.”

R’s Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, is relishing the opportunity to work with the former ADO Den Haag playmaker, adding: “Tjaronn is a very good technician, a fine player.
“He can play in a variety of positions in the top half of the field and will bring more pace to our squad, which is something I knew we needed after last season.
“We’ve had him watched at length and we’re really happy we’ve got him on board with a few weeks to go until the start of the season.”

QPR SIGN VERSATILE DEFENDER JAMES PERCH
PUBLISHED 11:50 31st July 2015 by @QPRFC James Perch becomes QPR's seventh summer signing ... - James Perch signs three-year deal at Loftus Road
- Versatile defender pens three year deal in W12
- Perch was named Latics' Player of the Year in his two seasons at the club
QPR have secured the signing of versatile defender James Perch.
Perch, 29, has signed a three-year deal at Loftus Road, after the R’s agreed an undisclosed fee with Wigan Athletic for his services.
Back-to-back Latics’ Player of the Year in each of his two seasons with the club since his £700,000 arrival from Newcastle United in July 2013, Perch – a virtual ever-present in his time at the DW Stadium – is relishing the opportunity to return to the Championship with QPR following Wigan’s relegation last term.
He told www.qpr.co.uk: “It’s great to be here and to have my future sorted out.
“Les and the gaffer sold the club to me brilliantly. They showed a great desire to bring me here, and that helped make up my mind.
“I know players who have played here before and they spoke about the club in good terms, so it was an easy decision for me.”
He added: “I’ve played in the Championship for quite a few years now and I know what to expect.
“It’s a tough division; it’s Saturday-Tuesday a lot of the time; there are no easy games, but we’ll front up the challenge head on and compete as best we can.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of getting into the side and proving my worth at QPR.”
R’s Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, pinpointed Perch’s versatility as a key factor in bringing him to Loftus Road, adding: “James is a proven Championship performer, with great versatility across a number of positions.
“He can cover both full-back positions, centre-half and holding midfield, so he’ll be a real asset for us.
SIGNING ON: Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, was at Loftus Road to welcome James Perch ...
“He’ll add experience to a relatively young squad, so we’re delighted he’s put pen to paper.”
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “We’re really pleased James has agreed to join us.
“We know we’re quite light on numbers in the defensive third of the pitch, so James’ arrival is welcome.
“He’s got a wealth of Premier League and Championship experience, he’s in the prime of his career, and he ticks all the boxes in terms of his quality and character.”
Perch will wear the number 24 shirt, the same number he wore at Wigan.

PUBLISHED 16:00 6th August 2015 by @QPRFC Midfielder Oscar Gobern pens one-year deal following successful trial period at QPR ... - QPR secure signing of midfielder Oscar Gobern
- 24-year-old signs 12 month deal at Loftus Road
- Gobern had been on trial with Chris Ramsey's side
QPR have completed the signing of midfielder Oscar Gobern.
Gobern has signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road, after impressing on trial during pre-season.
The 24 year-old, who left Huddersfield Town at the conclusion of his contract last season, will wear the number 17 shirt.
Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, told www.qpr.co.uk: “Oscar came in at the start of pre-season, got his head down, worked hard and he’s really impressed.
“He’s a good young player with a lot of potential, and we feel with the right attitude and guidance, he can really kick on at QPR.
“We’re pleased to add him to the squad and increase the competition for places in that area of the pitch.”
Gobern, who is a product of the Southampton Academy, is confident he can repay the faith shown in him by Ramsey, and is relishing the campaign ahead.
He said: “I've enjoyed pre-season here – and I'm delighted to have signed.
“Chris has made it known he wants a mixture of youth and experience in the squad and I'm probably a blend of the two. Him and Les have been brilliant with me, top drawer.
“My first goal is to play my way into the squad, get some minutes and see where it takes me.
“I can’t wait to pull on the shirt and play.”
Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “Oscar’s another good addition for us – and another player with Championship experience.
“He’s a good age, has good attributes, and has settled into the group seamlessly during the few weeks he’s been with us.
“We’ve got decent competition in midfield and he will only add to that.”

QPR SIGN DEFENDER GRANT HALL
image:
PUBLISHED 10:50 7th August 2015 by @QPRFC R’s clinch signing of defender Grant Hall from Tottenham Hotspur ... - Defender Grant Hall joins QPR from Tottenham Hotspur
- 23-year-old signs two-year deal at Loftus Road
- Hall available for Saturday's match at Charlton Athletic
QPR have added another defender to their squad on the eve of the new season with the addition of Grant Hall from Tottenham Hotspur.
Hall, who impressed for the R’s whilst on trial during pre-season, has signed a two-year deal at Loftus Road, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with Spurs for his services.
The 23 year-old was registered prior to the midday deadline and is therefore expected to go straight into the Hoops squad for tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, told www.qpr.co.uk: “I’ve always liked Grant from when I worked with him at Spurs.
“He’s an old fashioned defender – he can head the ball, he can tackle and he doesn’t mind putting his foot in when he needs to. But he can play as well from the back, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do when the opportunities present themselves this season.
“He’s still a young boy and centre-half is a very responsible position – but he’s got experience in the Championship and that’s vitally important for us.”
image:
ARRIVAL: Hall is signing number nine this summer
Hall, who spent time on loan with both Birmingham City and Blackpool in the second tier last season, will wear the number 4 shirt.
He said: “I’m delighted to get the deal done before the start of the season tomorrow.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can step up and force my way into the team.
“I think it’s good to have competition for places, but I’ve not come here to sit on the bench. I want to come in and stake my claim and show everyone what I’m capable of.”
R’s Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, told www.qpr.co.uk: “Grant is a solid addition at the back for us.
“He played in the Championship for two clubs in difficult situations last season and he’s come through it a better player for those experiences.
“He can certainly handle himself at this level and we’re looking forward to working with him and helping develop his game.”
