水处理公司凯发(Hyflux)在上周五表示，其在印度的首个大型供水项目已达成协议。公司与日立(Hitachi)所组的特别用途公司Swarnim DahejSpring Desalination(SDSD)与印度Dahej SEZ Limited(DSL)之间的协议为期30年(包括3年的建筑期)。在协议下，DSL承诺以‘照付不议’(take-or-pay)的形式购买所有由SDSD生产的水。项目的产能为每日33万6,000立方米。项目总成本约为6亿美元，并将以股本及项目盈利偿债形式的项目融资(non-recourse project finance)来作为资金。另外，公司宣布，位于新加坡的Tuaspring海水淡化厂的建筑工程正如期进行。这是新加坡的第二座，也是最大的海水淡化厂，预期将在今年较迟时候完工。

启示：公司料将承接总值约4亿2,000万美元的项目。倘若印度项目的财务部份能在本财年(截至2013年12月31日)结束前落实，或许该项目将对本财年表现带来正面的实际影响。

Water services company Hyflux says sales revenue rose 42% y-o-y to $682.4 million for FY2012.

The biggest revenue contributor was its municipal projects from Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, representing 92% of the group’s total revenue.

Earnings rose 15% y-o-y to $61 million.

The group’s current order book stands at $2.9 billion, with $1.9 billion worth of operations and maintenance (O&M) orders.

Hyflux says its Tuaspring desalination plant in Singapore will start operations in 2H2013 and is expected to enhance O&M revenues further.

有！当然有。之前他们有回购自己的股，就是他们已经知道接下来的盈利会好，他们的市价还不值这个价。

我工作过好几家公司，情况不会平静到那里去。有人的地方就会乱。

一个股前景好不好，还是看盈利的增长比较实际。

凯发(Hyflux)总值10亿5,000万元的Tuaspring海水淡化厂将于2H13投入服务，但因其自家的发电厂未竣工，公司将暂时向新加坡供电网络购电。按《商业时报》报道，业内消息人士表示，发电厂未能完工是由于与建筑相关的原因，包括颁发发电厂合约的行动迟缓。凯发的发言人解释道，虽然公司向公用事业局承诺，Tuaspring海水淡化厂将于2013年投入服务，但“项目时间表因公司需要更长的时间来完成发电厂分包合约而出现海水淡化厂和发电厂无法同时竣工的情况。”

启示：项目的资金债权人对此表示担忧，虽然海水淡化厂与公用事业局之间的25年期购水合约能给予保障，但发电厂并没有类似的安排作为保障。然而，公司为海水淡化厂及发电厂取得的融资是属于长期性无追讨权的形式。Tuaspring被视为一个高水准项目，因此有不少银行均非常乐于参与。

Hyflux, Singapore’s largest publicly traded water company, signed memos of understanding for project collaborations with the prefectural governments of Chuxiong and Qujing in China’s Yunnan province.

The investment value of the water and environmental projects in the two cities is estimated at as much as 3.2 billion yuan ($639 million), Hyflux, which built Singapore’s first water-recycling plant and China’s biggest seawater reverse-osmosis desalination facility in Tianjin City, said today in a statement.

The projects covered under the MOUs include development of water recycling, wastewater treatment and potable water treatment plants, and related infrastructure. Hyflux gets about 92% of its revenue from municipal contracts.

The company is building the world’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis desalination plant in Magtaa, Algeria.

Hyflux today announced a 5% rise in PATMI to $8 million and total revenue of $124.5 million for the first three months of the financial year ending 31 December 2013. The profit before tax for the period was $10 million.

The group’s municipal projects in Asia, ex-China were major contributors to group revenue, providing 87% or $109.2 million to first quarter revenue. The group’s operations in China provided 8%, while Middle East and North Africa contributed 5% to total revenue.

The total revenue recorded for first quarter of FY2013 was 8% lower than the total revenue of $135.3 million registered for the first quarter of FY2012. The profit before tax was $10.5 million and PATMI was $7.7 million for the first quarter of FY2012.

As a result of overall cost management efforts, the group improved on its gross margin to 40% in the first quarter of FY2013 compared to 37% in the first three months of FY2012. Total operating costs and finance expenses fell by some 8% due to lower costs incurred for raw materials, consumables and changes in inventories, and a reduction in staff costs and other expenses.

The net gearing ratio remained healthy at 0.7 times and the cash position stood at $402 million.

Tuaspring Desalination Plant in Singapore is currently undergoing testing and commissioning. The plant is scheduled to start operations in the second half 2013 and will begin to contribute to the Group’s growing portion of recurring income.

Despite the challenging economic conditions, the group notes an improvement in the global water industry as governments are investing in large-scale water projects due to pent-up demand, and as more projects are being put up for tender to tap on private-sector funding. The prospects for the industrial water sector continue to improve as countries such as China and India impose more stringent water discharge standards and encourage industries to seek alternative sustainable sources of water such as recycling and desalination. Hyflux continues to actively pursue opportunities in Asia, the Middle East and in selective markets in Africa.

Hyflux Ltd.’s unit Hydrochem (S) signed a US$138.7 million ($175.9 million) export credit financing agreement for a power plant in Singapore, the company said in a filing to the Singapore stock exchange today.

The agreement with Germany’s Kfw Ipex-Bank GmbH will be used to fund the purchase of key components for a power plant in the Tuaspring desalination project in Tuas, Singapore, according to the statement.

Construction work on the 411-megawatt power plant is “progressing well,” it said.

Hyflux OCBC keeps a Hold rating on Hyflux (600.SG), but says value is starting to emerge after the stock's recent sharp correction.

The house notes that Starhill shares fell nearly 13.1% from a high of $1.37 on 10 Jun to a low of $1.19 on 24 Jun, with the slowing economic growth and tight liquidity conditions in China hurting investor confidence.

Still, OCBC believes these concerns may be overwrought; although waste water treatment projects require very large capital investments, "water scarcity and pollution of water sources are two of the most serious problems for China; and the government is likely to put in more effort to tackle these issues," the house says.

Also, the house notes that Hyflux is an "international" company, thus it should be able to access other sources of funds besides the usual "local" project financing.

The house trims the stock's fair value to $1.30 from $1.44. Hyflux shares are recently up 0.8% at $1.25.

Hyflux, Singapore’s biggest publicly traded water company, reported a 25% drop in revenue from a year ago in the second quarter, citing lower contributions from China.

Sales declined to $138.4 million in the three months ended June 30 from $183.6 million in the same period last year, according to a statement to the Singapore stock exchange yesterday. Second quarter net income was $17.7 million, higher than $17.5 million a year ago, according to the statement.

The company’s lower revenue from China was due to “macro factors,” according to the statement. The water company withdrew from two water projects at the Hechuan Industrial park in Chongqing City because of a “forseeable low off-take volume of the water,” it said. China’s economy grew 7.5% from a year earlier in the April-June period, slowing for a second straight quarter and extending the longest streak of sub-8% expansion in at least two decades.

An interim dividend of 0.7 cents per share is declared for the six months ended June 30, the company said.

Hyflux said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hyflux Management and Consultancy (HMC), has signed an exclusive co-operation agreement for the development of the Hejiang Fobao Yulanshan Mountain Wetlands project in Sichuan province, China.

The other parties to the agreement are the Hejiang County People's Government and Sichuan Hengxin Weiye Investment Co.

The project is envisioned to be a development consisting of residential, commercial, recreational and tourism developments.

During the six-month validity period of the agreement, HMC and Sichuan Hengxin Weiye Investment Co., Ltd will conduct feasibility studies and work with the Hejiang County People’s Government on the features and other details of the Project, including the design and development of sustainable water infrastructure and other environment-related facilities.

Hyflux’s subsidiary will leverage on the group's extensive expertise and experience in water treatment solutions and environment technology.

The agreement is not expected to have a material financial impact on Hyflux for the financial year ending 31 December 2013.

Hyflux and Singapore’s national water agency PUB today opened the city-state’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis desalination plant.

The Tuaspring plant has a daily capacity of 70 million gallons, or 318,500 cubic meters, Singapore’s biggest publicly traded water company said in a stock exchange filing.

With the opening of the facility in Tuas in western Singapore, desalinated water will meet as much as 25% of the demand in the Southeast Asian country, it said. Singapore has a population of about 5.3 million.

The desalination plant, Singapore’s second, will supply PUB with potable water for 25 years, it said. Hyflux built Singapore’s first water-recycling facility, SingSpring, which started commercial operations in 2005.

Hyflux, Singapore’s largest publicly traded water company, reported a 74% rise in third-quarter earnings, buoyed by municipal projects in Asia.

Net profit was $25.3 million compared with $14.5 million for the year-earlier period, the company said today in a statement. Third-quarter revenue rose 26% to $187.7 million.

Completion of projects “markedly lifted growth” while the China market contributed 4% to total revenue in the quarter, a drop from 14% a year earlier. Hyflux also said it’s “actively pursuing desalination and water-recycling opportunities in the industrial water sector.”

Hyflux and Singapore’s national water agency PUB opened the city-state’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis desalination facility, Tuaspring, in September. Given the Dahej desalination project in India that’s on course for financial close in 2014 and Tuaspring’s completion, Hyflux said it anticipated a slower fourth quarter. The shares have fallen 8.6% this year.

Hyflux, Singapore’s biggest publicly traded water company, said 2013 profit fell 28% because of the timing of projects finished during the year.
Net income was $44 million compared with $61 million a year earlier, the Singapore-based company said today in a statement. Sales slid 18 percent to $535.8 million.

Hyflux and Singapore’s national water agency PUB opened Tuaspring, the city-state’s largest seawater reverse-osmosis desalination facility, last September. The company expects a slower first half this year due to works being completed and the timing of projects, it said in the statement.

The company is focusing more on actively bidding for projects in the Middle East and Africa beyond its established markets in Asia and Algeria. “The outlook for the global water industry has improved and more water infrastructure projects are being made available for public tenders,” it said.

The stock has gained 6 percent this year in Singapore trading compared with a 2.6 percent decline by the benchmark Straits Times Index. Hyflux closed unchanged at $1.24 today. The results were released after the close of trade.

The company also said it’s seeking to achieve financial close for its Dahej project in India in the first half.

Hyflux says its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hyflux Consumer Products (HCP), have entered into a share purchase agreement with Marmon Water (Singapore) (MWS) for the sale of HCP’s entire 49% equity interest in Marmon Hyflux Investments (MHI) to MWS.

MHI is a company incorporated in Singapore with a total issued and paid-up share capital of US$6 million. MWS is the only other and majority shareholder of MHI and owns 51% of its equity interest.

Following the divestment, MHI will cease to be an associate of the group. The divestment is not expected to have a material impact on the group.

The total cash consideration for the divestment is US$6.7 million ($8.5 million). However, an ex-dividend of about US$3.1 million ($3.9 million) to be declared by MHI will also be paid to HCP.

As of 31 December 2013, the group’s share MHI’s unaudited net assets of $12.2 million.

MHI’s activities primarily include sales and marketing. Hyflux says the divestment is part of the group’s ongoing rationalisation of partnerships.
