E MATHS 很多人说这题满难一下



The diagram above shows a company's logo. The logo consists of three circles. The smallest circle and the largest circle had their centres as O, as shown in the diagram.

The radius of the smallest circle is 2x cm and is denoted by red region; the radius of the largest circle is 2y cm and is denoted by green region.

The third circle is denoted by yellow region.

a) Explain fully, why the radius of the third circle is (x + y) cm.

b) Express each expression in terms of pi for
   
   i) Area of yellow region.

   ii) Area of green region.

c) Given that the area of green region is twice the yellow region, form an equation and shows that it reduces to
                                 y^2 - 6xy + 5x^2 = 0

d) i) Factorise y^2 - 6xy + 5x^2.
  
   ii) Solve the equation y^2 - 6xy + 5x^2 = 0.

e) Calculate the fraction of the yellow region over the green region.

(a) 直径=x+(x+2y)
radius=x+y

(b)YELLOW REGION=PI((X+Y)^2-(2X)^2)
=pi(yy+2xy-3xx)

green region=pi((2y)^2-(x+y)^2)
=pi(3yy-2xy-xx)

(c)pi(3yy-2xy-xx)=2pi(yy+2xy-3xx)
3yy-2xy-xx=2yy+4xy-6xx
yy+5xx-6xy=0
y^2 - 6xy + 5x^2 = 0
(deduced)

(d) factorise===yy-6xy+9xx-4xx=0
(y-3x)^2=4xx

solve-->(y-3x+2x)(y-3x-2x)=0
y=x (wrong since y>x) or y=5x

so y=5x

(e)yellow/green
=pi(yy+2xy-3xx)/pi(3yy-2xy-xx)
=(25xx+10xx-3xx)/(75xx-10xx-xx)
=32/64
=1/2

对不起列，我还真的不知道e maths = mathematics syllabus D是什么
