想知道在钻油台工作需要什么学历？都一定要degree吗？ In engineering？ 如petronas bintulu钻油台的薪水是RM5000，如果跳去外国公司会不会以美金计算呢？15天offshore 15天onshore,在岸上是不是完全不需要工作，是休息天。我自己是degree in chemistry.经验在commercial laboratary,可以拿到IKM member, 但是想想laboratory或者chemist行情在malaysia/singapore好像很难突破5位数。想往oil & gas 发展

Cameron International Corp. (CAM) won dismissal from all claims arising from BP Plc’s 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill after a judge said there was no evidence showing the company was at fault for the disaster.
Cameron, which made the so-called blowout preventer designed to stop explosions in BP’s oil well, was named in multiple lawsuits claiming the equipment was defective. Witnesses testifying at a New Orleans trial over fault for the disaster have said the blowout preventer wasn’t properly maintained by the Transocean (RIG) Ltd. crew manning the drill rig.
U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier in New Orleans had earlier ruled out punitive damages against Houston-based Cameron, finding no proof of gross negligence. He dismissed all remaining claims yesterday.
“I’ve heard no evidence during this trial or seen no evidence to support a finding of negligence against Cameron that could have in any way caused or contributed to the accident, to the casualty,” Barbier said.
The blowout of the deep-water Macondo well off the coast of Louisiana sent more than 4 million barrels of oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico and killed 11 people. The accident sparked hundreds of lawsuits against London-based BP, Transocean and Halliburton Co. (HAL), which provided cement services.
Jeff Altamari, a spokesman for Houston-based Cameron, didn’t immediately return calls seeking comment on the judge’s ruling. Scott Dean, a BP spokesman, declined to comment.
Liability Trial
A trial over liability for the spill and explosion began Feb. 25 in federal court in New Orleans. Barbier will determine responsibility for the disaster and whether any of the companies acted with willful or wanton misconduct or reckless indifference -- the legal requirement for establishing gross negligence.
If BP is found grossly negligent, it may be liable for more than $17 billion in pollution fines, as well as punitive damages to claimants who weren’t part of an $8.5 billion settlement of lawsuits. For Transocean and Halliburton, a similar finding would mean they could face punitive-damages awards.
The government and spill victims contend BP (BP/) was over budget and behind schedule on the Macondo well, prompting the company to cut corners and ignore safety tests showing the well was unstable.
Defective Job
They also allege Halliburton’s cement job was defective and Transocean employees made a series of missteps on the rig, including disabling safety systems, failing to properly maintain the installation and not providing adequate training for its crew.
Cameron was sued because its equipment didn’t stop the blowout. Barbier found the evidence presented at trial didn’t establish the company improperly designed or manufactured the safety system. Witnesses testified the Deepwater Horizon’s blowout preventer suffered from faulty wiring and a dead battery.
“The evidence is directed not at Cameron itself but rather at Cameron’s customers,” BP and Transocean, Barbier said in court yesterday.
BP and Transocean are “sophisticated customers,” Barbier said. “They specified and selected the type of blowout preventer, the components, the arrangement of the components and made decisions, whether those decisions in the end were right or wrong or proper or not, they made decisions as to how this blowout preventer would be configured and arranged and its capacity,” he said.
Upgrade Decision
The other defendants “also made decisions as to whether and when to upgrade the blowout preventer,” the judge added.
Last month, Barbier also threw out all claims against M-I Swaco, a Schulmberger Ltd. (SLB) unit that provided the rig’s drilling fluids. The judge concluded the government and spill victims presented no evidence the company played any role in the disaster.
The case is In re Oil Spill by the Oil Rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, 10-md-02179, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans).

我的公司是做piping的，也有做oil & gas 这行。如果遇到main cont是马来公司真得很惨。我老板就是很单纯的相信，跟他们合作，结果赔很多钱。PFC ENGINEERING真的是大奸残公司，很爱赖账，拖很多年都不要settle payment。到最后，就跟老板说，我只可以给这笔钱，要你就拿，不要你就等。我老板就拿了那笔钱走。
我的公司，通常都是去petronas, shell, petron (以前是esso), titan 作比较多。现在大的project 在沙巴， 也是petronas, 但是我们under samsung。 Samsung也是很小气的公司。
我也想进shell做工，account，但是很难，因为没有人事疏通，福利那么好的公司，通常人家都是霸着，等到退休为止。

Anwar vows to stop Mokhzani’s Petronas contract if Pakatan wins GE13

GERIK, April 5 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pledged last night to revoke the recent multimillion ringgit Petronas contract awarded to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s son, saying this would be one of Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) first steps to end cronyism should it win federal power in Election 2013.

Speaking at a ceramah in Taman Semarak here, the opposition leader heaped criticism against his long-time arch nemesis for allegedly reaping the riches of the country’s national oil company for his family, namely his son Mokhzani.

“First, within 24 hours of Pakatan’s swearing in, we will drop the prices of fuel for the whole country,” he said to a crowd of over 1,000 people in the Hulu Perak district township.




“Number two, is this oil contract. Do you think under Najib it would be retracted? No. But if we take over, I want to tell Dr Mahathir — I am Anwar, I am not Najib.

“Najib is afraid of you but I am not. I have no intention of being cruel to you or to take revenge, but this billion-ringgit contract given to your son, I want to stop it, I want to give it back to the children of Malaysians nationwide,” Anwar (picture) said.

Mokhzani is part owner and vice-president of Sapura Kencana Petroleum Bhd, an oil-and-gas (O&G) specialist that has been awarded a RM836 million risk production contract by national oil company Petronas Bhd.

With RM11.85 billion in assets, Sapura Kencana is one of the world’s top O&G service support players by asset base. It has also started venturing into other oil-producing countries such as Kazakhstan.

Dr Mahathir, the country’s longest-serving prime minister, has been going on a stump for Barisan Nasional (BN) ahead of the coming polls, recently telling voters in Umno’s Johor bastion to end the political careers of PR leaders, especially DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang who will be contesting there.

Lim is heading the opposition pact’s assault of Johor in the general election.

PR leaders were quick to retaliate, centring their attacks on the influential Umno leader’s family members.

“The Petronas adviser is Dr Mahathir; Dr Mahathir’s son, Mokhzani Mahathir, is among the richest people in Malaysia. Does he think his son is the only Malay around?” PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told some 2,000 people at a ceramah in Johor earlier this week.

“Why does Dr Mahathir hate Anwar, Lim Kit Siang and Abdul Hadi? ... because they are the new hope.

“Why is Mahathir angry? This isn’t his time anymore, because he knows if we can change, not only Mahathir but even his children are finished,” DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said at the same ceramah.

“Dr Mahathir’s son is the 13th richest person in Malaysia,” said the Penang chief minister, who is also Kit Siang’s son.

In a televised address on Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat, paving the way for the long-awaited 13th general election.

The Malaysian Insider understands that the polls may be held as soon as April 20 or a week later on April 27, depending on the Election Commission’s (EC) arrangements.

The EC is expected to meet next week to set the dates for nominations and polling that must he held within 60 days of it getting the notice of dissolution from every state legislative assembly that has yet to be dissolved.

Politicians from the ruling BN and opposition PR will be fighting tooth and nail to wrest majority control over 222 parliamentary seats and 505 state seats in the coming polls, which analysts have said is will a toss-up between both pacts.

他们offer我的薪水竟然和我1年前进现在的公司时的薪水一样 =.=

我当场傻眼，问为什么这么低，他们说因为我没有oil&gas的经验....扎到，我还以为oil&gas公司的薪水都给很高 =.=

ps: 我是要求比我当初进工的薪水高20%而已

早前有新进的几位工程师，他们有的来自construction, plantation, maintenance, 虽然有3-5年工作经验，结果都consider as fresh graduate.
可能开头难，接下去就容易多了，别放弃，加油！

大家好，我还有一年就要出来社会做事了。很想知道mechatronic有没有机会进oil and gas这个field,,有朋友之前被slumberger offer但他说他等了半年才收到他们电话，是不是所有oil and gas 工作都需要那么多提前申请的？？
因为hometown地点关系所以希望进入这行相关

下次如果还有机会的话， 照进吧。是， 没有oil & gas 经验的account 入门薪水都是跟外面一样的， in line woth market rate 嘛 （我进去时也一样）。
不过等到年终花红就值得了，基本上都有4 个月的。除非你现在的比这个更好， 那有另当别论。。。。

shell？之前听，前shell regional sales manager说过，shell打算慢慢退出大马市场，而petronas将慢慢monopoly大马市场，现在这前shell regional sales manager就是petronas其一Dealer。。。。
