Section 14 of Price Control and Anti-Profi​teering Act 2011

I would like to reported that Post Malaysia may violated Section 14 of Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

A check on the internet suggested that  Pos Malaysia Berhad increase price on 15 May 2013. Two "Letter to Editor" has been published by The Star on 16 May 2013 and 17 May 2013 complaint about the matter. Pos Malaysia Berhad has reduced revised it Small Packet rate from minumum RM60.00 (1 Kg) to RM21.00 (250g) for Zone 4 (US) on 21 May 2013.

However, reader still write in on 1 Jun 2013 complaining "Postal rates still way too high" after reduction on 21 May 2013. The letter also compare postal rate of Malaysia with Uk and US. Base on this letter. Post Malaysia Berhad might violated section 14 of Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

Further, Pos Malaysia Berhad also announced quaterly profit increase on 21 May 2013 . Price increase of 140%  when quaterly profit increase definately violated Section 14 of Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

Another letter also published on The Star dated 22 May 2013 advising Post Malaysia Berhad Don’t kill the golden goose, Pos Malaysia.

There is a booklet by Pos Malaysia Berhad announcing it price increase. Initially, online seller still able to use Page one of Booklet. This mean a parcel previously RM3.00 to UK might increase to RM5.00. This is a 66% increase in postal rate.

However, when the matter has cooling down. Postal staff no longer allowed online seller to send parcvel base on page one of the booklet but have to used Small packet rate on page 2 of booklet since July 2013. The staff claim that they just attended a "khusus" that required them to charge base on "Small packet Rate" on page 2 of booklet as Page 1 rate are for "letter" only but not for "Goods". This mean a parcel send to Uk at RM3.00 before 15 May 2013 have increase to RM5.00 after 15 May 2013 but have to charge RM21 after July 2013. This effectively 700% price increase and really violated Section 14 of Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

意思是我寄的物品如文具如胶水值RM8.50. 但邮费RM21.00. 邮费RM21.00高于寄的物品RM8.50
