首先要聲明的是，這部被我們動手玩的 G Pad 8.3 不是其上市版本，LG 仍然很有可能對它的軟體作出改動，但這次的動手玩至少給了我們一個機會去預期一下它到底是怎樣的。G Pad 是屬於 LG G 系列旗下，即屬於旗艦機的類別，與 Optimus G Pro 和 G2 看齊，事實上它就像一部放大了的 LG 旗艦手機。它給人的觀感是不錯的，背面是以銀色鋁金屬製成，跟旁邊的黑或白色膠製邊緣成了一個鮮明對比。螢幕方面，它的色彩亮眼，可視角度很好，跟 Optimus G Pro 身上所見的效果相似。
拿上手的手感方面，它 338 克的重量是非常輕，在場的 LG 代表更指出有一些硬封面書本比較更重。重量較輕也表示了單手握著變得更易，我們的動手拿也發現它輕得「有點不實在」的感覺，是正面的不實在呢。它的重量配合著 126.5mm 的厚度使到它的握感舒適，甚至更可以被放在西裝的內袋中。有趣的是，LG 之所以得出了這個尺寸決定，是因為他們考慮了由南韓政府所提供的平均手掌尺寸而定。
就平板的機身設計方面，它的左側是什麼都沒有，右側則有開關鍵和音量鍵。頂部可以插入耳機、micro-SD 和配備一個 IR 發射器，底部則是給 micro-USB 開口的位置。就背面而言，除了有一個主相機之外，它的右方也是兩個喇叭的位置，所以將它橫放看影片的時候，聲效不會被阻擋。另外說回它的內涵吧，來自 LG 行動產品計劃部門的 Patrick Hong 告訴我們，他們採用 Snapdragon 600 而不用 800 的原因是希望平衡它的續航力，以及在進行高系統需求操作時，溫度不會那麼高。
