Chelsea trio John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and Michy Batshuayi played for the club’s Under 23 side on Monday in a bid to remedy their lack of first-team game-time.
With manager Antonio Conte sticking with a settled line-up, Terry, Fabregas and Batshuayi have failed to start in a Premier League game for almost two months.
They joined third-choice goalkeeper Eduardo, as well as Kurt Zouma and Marco van Ginkel - both returning from injury - in a senior-looking side that beat Southampton 3-2 in Premier League 2 at their Cobham training base.
