马六甲羽赛同时开打！！

（馬六甲訊）在國家羽隊各主力缺席下，楊佳儐週三在此間掀戰的馬六甲羽球公開賽中決心向首號種子關明鴻發出挑戰書，以爭奪男單冠軍。
楊佳儐欲在馬六甲羽球公開賽打出好成績，以作為爭取入選多哈亞運的籌碼。
在國家羽隊首3號男單李宗偉、哈菲茲和黃綜翰的缺席下，馬六甲羽球公開賽男單冠軍將是第一種子關愛鴉和楊佳儐之爭。
這項公開賽將在馬六甲羽總禮堂舉行，宗偉和哈菲茲由於參加週三掀戰的澳門公開賽而無法前來古城，綜翰的腳踝傷正在康復中。
雖然佳儐在國家羽隊已有8年，但是他卻未曾代表大馬參加任何一項國際賽，所以他很渴望參加多哈亞運。
佳儐羅斯林爭亞運參賽權
目前，肯定入選多哈亞運的男單有李宗偉、哈菲茲和關明鴻，剩下1席將由楊佳儐和羅斯林爭奪。
佳儐表示，若是他能摘下馬六甲公開賽冠軍，那將提高他入選多哈亞運的機會。
他指出，他在中國教練李矛的指導下，球藝已比過去有所進步，覺得更有自信心。
除了欲在馬六甲公開賽打出佳績，佳儐也放眼在本月25日至30日的泰國羽球公開賽打出好成績。
妙珠女單面對佩嫻挑戰
而首號種子黃妙珠在養傷復出後，預料在女單賽將受到次號種子黃佩嫻的挑戰爭奪女單后座。
在男雙賽中，預料將由首次號種子陳重名與古健傑和凌文輝與法魯茲祖安爭奪冠軍。 （星洲日報／體育‧2006/07/18） |

Chong Chieh beats Syafiq
NATIONAL shuttler James Chua was stretched to three games by national junior Chan Kwong Beng while Malaysia Games champion Syafiq Jamaluddin was sent packing by Lok Chong Chieh in the first round of the Malacca Open badminton championships in Malacca yesterday.
Chua, fighting to remain in the national team, was given a tough time by Kwong Beng, 18, before securing a 21-12, 20-22, 21-10 in the men’s singles Division One match.
Chua will now meet 2010-2012 project squad player Tan Chun Seang in the second round today. Chun Seang edged another junior shuttler Vountus Indra Mawan 20-22, 21-9, 21-13 and is capable of ending Chua’s run in the tournament.
Syafiq, who surprised everyone by winning the Malaysia Games singles gold in Kedah last month, fell to Bukit Jalil Sports School’s Chong Chieh 21-18, 21-18 in the first round. Chong Chieh will play top seed Kuan Beng Hong today. |

男 单 并 没 有 特 出 的 新 秀 ， 年 尾 的 改 组 是 否 被 选 中 都 要 靠 运 气 ， 而 且 被 选 中 也 未 必 是 新 秀 中 最 好 的 ， 李 矛 和 阿 福 应 该 都 很 头 痛 。 |

Beng Hong And Mew Choo Win Malacca Open 2006
MALACCA, July 23 (Bernama) -- Both first seeds Kuan Beng Hong and Wong Mew Choo emerged as champions of the Proton Malacca Open Badminton Championship at the Malacca Badminton Hall here Sunday.
Beng Hong had an easy win over second seed Yeoh Kay Bin (22-20, 21-14) in 32 minutes.
Beng Hong tied point-for-point until 20-20 in the first set before defeating Kay Bin 22-20. In the second set, however, he led comfortably to grab the title with good court control.
"I have lost more matches against Kay Bin. Therefore, I appreciate this win which is my third from nine or 10 meetings," he told reporters after the match.
Beng Hong, 23, who bagged the national third seed slot after Lee Chong Wei and Hafiz Hashim, said the last time he defeated Kay Bin was two years ago after the Singapore Satellite Championship in the semi finals.
"A week after that I lost to him again in the Malacca Open in 2004," said Beng Hong who will leave for Thailand Monday to take part in the Thai Open starting on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Mew Choo, who was in action for the first time after a three-month injury, had to struggle to beat Julia Wong 21-14, 19-21, 21-12 in 62 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the men doubles Ong Soon Hock-Tan Bin Shen sprang a surprise when they defeated first seeds Chan Chong Ming-Koo Kien Keat 23-21, 21-16.
Soon Hock and Bin Shen, from Selangor, who had defeated another national pair Mohd Fairuzizuan/Lin Woon Fui (21-13, 21-16) earlier in the semi-finals, again displayed a potent combination in the final.
"This is my first win over Chan and Koo in a championship," said Tan, 22.
